Over the weekend, in the dark and a rainstorm, our ๐…๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ ๐Ž๐ง-๐‚๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐“๐ž๐š๐ฆ responded to an emergency waterline break in ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ ๐‚๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐Œ๐ƒ for our client partner WSSC Water. The crew indentified the broken line, replaced the section of pipe, and restored water service to the residents of Scottish Autumn Lane in the ๐‚๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐†๐š๐ข๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐›๐ฎ๐ซ๐ .

Yesterday was the Ribbon-Cutton Ceremony. Flippo Construction is honored to have been asked by the DCIA to participate in the connected community event, among other DCIA Partner organizations like ๐๐ž๐ฉ๐œ๐จ, Washington Gas, DC Water, & ๐–๐š๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐จ๐ง ๐Œ๐ž๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ง ๐€๐ซ๐ž๐š ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ ๐€๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ (๐–๐Œ๐€๐“๐€). It was an amazing in night in Annapolis for the Flippo Construction team at the ABC Chesapeake Shores 2026 ๐‘ฌ๐’™๐’„๐’†๐’๐’๐’†๐’๐’„๐’† ๐‘ฐ๐’ ๐‘ช๐’๐’๐’”๐’•๐’“๐’–๐’„๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ & ๐‘บ๐’‚๐’‡๐’†๐’•๐’š ๐‘จ๐’˜๐’‚๐’“๐’…๐’” ๐‘ฎ๐’‚๐’๐’‚. Flippo received an Excellence Award for the Cannon House Vault project and a Merit Award for the Loyola Avenue Storm Sewer Replacement project. Flippo was also the ABC STEP Platinum recognition for Safety Program. It was a great night of celebration, food, & camaraderie.

Our Employee-Owners on the Structural Concrete Team have been hard at work in the City of Alexandria, removing and replacing the top concrete slab on the Hooffs Run Culvert, that runs under Alexandria. Hooffs Run is a double-barrelled culvert, with each side measuring 17 ft wide and 5 ft high, and runs about a half mile under the city. It is part of the city's overall stormwater management system. The Flippo Construction team is currently in the City of Alexandria, Virginia working on the 2nd phase of the Hooffs Run Culvert project. The project involves removing & replacing the top of the culvert, building a retaining wall, and making concrete repairs to the culvert interior. Check out these recent photos of the project.
