In honor of Denim Day today, we are inviting you to show your support for sexual assault survivors and to help educate individuals and communities about sexual assault.

By wearing denim, individuals are making a statement against the 1992 decision by the Italian Supreme Court. In this decision, it was determined that a woman had not been r***d because he jeans were tight enough that they could have only been removed with her assistance --therefore making the act consensual.

Through a partnership with Merrick & Company, an engineering firm in Colorado, Molson Coors takes waste beer and produces 3 million gallons of ethanol a year.

The 200-proof product is then sold to Valero Energy and distributed in gas stations in Colorado.

Green manufacturing examples we can learn from:
General Mills used to pay ($100/ton) to have its solid waste taken to a landfill, but the company discovered other uses for byproducts.

For example, it took oat hulls, a byproduct of Cheerios, and burned it as fuel. Customers are now lining up to buy the material, and by 2006, the cereal maker recycled 86 percent of its solid waste.

Kalundborg Symbiosis, a group of nine manufacturing companies from Denmark, have been trading waste since 1961. Annually, they save 24 million EUR and reduce carbon emission by 635,000 tons via the practice of circular manufacturing.

The Kalundborg Symbiosis is a partnership between eleven public and private companies in Kalundborg. The main principle is, that a residue from one company becomes a resource at another, benefiting both the environment and the economy.
