🦋 HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND FROM MONARCA HVAC!

The long weekend is here! 🙌 Whether you're heading out of town, camping under the stars, spending the day at the river, enjoying the lake, or simply relaxing at home with family and friends, we hope everyone gets a chance to relax, recharge and make some great memories.

And if you're still deciding what to do, there are plenty of things happening around our communities this weekend!

🎉 LOCAL WEEKEND IDEAS

🇬🇷 Roseville Greek Food Festival — Saturday & Sunday in Roseville with authentic Greek food and pastries, dancing, shopping and family fun. Kids under 12 are free!

🎨 Chalk It Up! Sacramento — happening Saturday through Labor Day Monday at Fremont Park. A fun option for anyone who wants to spend the day enjoying art and the community.

🍉 Watermelon Festival at Bishop's Pumpkin Farm — happening Friday, Saturday & Sunday in Wheatland.

⚾ Yuba-Sutter Freebirds — catch one of their final weekend games Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening at Bryant Field in Marysville.

🎭 Sacramento also has Around the World in 80 Days running through Sunday at The Sofia, plus several other arts and family events happening throughout the weekend.

Or keep it simple! 🏕️ Pack up the family for a camping trip, visit one of our beautiful lakes or rivers, take a hike, have a backyard BBQ, visit a farmers market, or support one of your favorite local restaurants or small businesses.

🏕️ HEADING OUTDOORS? A FEW SAFETY REMINDERS

With a busy holiday weekend ahead, California State Parks is reminding everyone to plan ahead and recreate safely.

💧 Bring plenty of water and stay hydrated, even with the cooler weather.

🦺 Wear a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket when enjoying rivers, lakes or boating—especially with children. Don't let calm-looking water give you a false sense of security.

🌊 Never dive headfirst into unfamiliar water and avoid rope swings. Water depth and underwater hazards aren't always visible.

🔥 Be extremely careful with campfires. Follow local fire restrictions, never leave a fire unattended, keep water and a shovel nearby, and fully extinguish it before leaving.

🥾 Don't hike alone when possible. Bring appropriate shoes, water, sunscreen and supplies, and let someone know where you're going.

🚗🚤 And of course — please don't drink and drive or operate a boat while impaired. Get everyone home safely. ❤️

From all of us at Monarca HVAC, THANK YOU to the hardworking men and women throughout our communities—and an extra thank-you to everyone who will still be working this holiday weekend. 🇺🇸

Have fun. Be safe. Support local. Make memories. ❤️🤍💙

And if your HVAC system decides it doesn't believe in holiday weekends… 😅 Monarca is only a phone call away. 🦋

🍹🦋 TIPSY THURSDAY: Don’t Let Cooler Weather Fool You!

The temperatures may have dropped this week, but here’s your friendly reminder from Monarca:

Your A/C getting a break doesn’t mean HVAC season is over. 😉

When the weather cools down, your system may run less—or not at all for long stretches. That makes these comfortable days a great time to think about something most of us put off:

🔥 When was the last time you actually tested your HEAT?

Don't wait for the first cold morning to flip the thermostat over to HEAT and discover:

⚠️ The furnace won't start
⚠️ Strange smells or noises appear
⚠️ The blower isn't operating properly
⚠️ Your heat pump isn't switching modes correctly
⚠️ Some rooms aren't warming like they should

Thursday Tip: Give your heating system a quick test before you actually need it.

Turn it on, let it operate for a short period, and pay attention to how it starts, sounds, smells, and heats your space. If something doesn't seem right, now is a much better time to find out than on the first freezing night. 😅

🏠 Homeowners: Get ahead of heating season.
🏢 Businesses & Property Managers: This is also a great time to check heating operation across your equipment before tenants, employees, or customers start asking for heat.

California weather loves to keep us guessing. ☀️🍂🔥❄️
Your HVAC system shouldn't.

Need us to take a look? Monarca is here to help. 🦋

🦋 Wednesday HVAC Reminder

A few simple maintenance habits can go a long way when it comes to keeping your HVAC system comfortable, efficient, and reliable.

✅ Clean coils help your system transfer heat properly and reduce unnecessary strain.
✅ Clean filters support better airflow, indoor air quality, and system efficiency.
✅ Good airflow helps your home or business stay more evenly comfortable and can reduce wear on your equipment.

Small maintenance items are easy to overlook, but over time they can make a big difference in energy use, system performance, and the likelihood of unexpected repairs.

🏠 Homeowners
🏢 Business Owners & Property Managers

If it’s been a while since your system has been checked, cleaned, or maintained, this is a great time to take care of it before the next stretch of extreme weather arrives.

🦋 TUESDAY HVAC TIP: SUMMER ISN’T OVER… BUT THE WEATHER SURE FEELS DIFFERENT! 🍂

Did anyone else step outside this week and wonder where our summer heat went? 😅

We may technically still be in summer, but Mother Nature has given the Sacramento area a major temperature change. After all those hot days when our A/C systems were working overtime, we're suddenly seeing daytime temperatures only in the 70s this week. 🌤️

And your HVAC system notices the change too!

This cooler weather means your A/C may barely need to run—and that's a good thing. Give it a break! 🙌

Instead of automatically leaving your thermostat at the same setting you've used during the hottest part of summer:

🌡️ Adjust your thermostat to match the weather. If your home is already comfortable, there's no reason to force additional cooling.

🪟 Take advantage of cooler mornings and evenings. When outdoor conditions and air quality allow, a little natural ventilation can give your HVAC system a rest.

🏢 Commercial properties: Check those programmed schedules! Your building may not need the same cooling schedule it needed during 95°–100° weather.

🍂 Pay attention when the system isn't running as much. This transition period is a great opportunity to take care of anything you noticed during summer before heating season arrives.

And here's the California twist…

Don't put the A/C away just yet! 😂

Temperatures are already forecast to begin climbing again after this cool stretch, reminding us that California weather can change quickly.

Enjoy the cooler weather while we've got it, give your HVAC system a well-deserved break, and remember:

Comfort isn't always about making your HVAC work harder—sometimes it's knowing when it doesn't need to work at all. 🦋

🦋 MONARCA MONDAY: What Did Your HVAC System Teach You This Summer?

August is coming to an end, and after months of Sacramento-area heat, your HVAC system has had quite the workout. ☀️❄️

Before summer becomes a distant memory, think back:

🏠 Did some rooms stay warmer than others?
⏰ Did your system seem to run constantly?
💵 Were your energy bills noticeably higher?
🌬️ Did you notice weaker airflow than you remember?
🔊 Any new noises, smells, or unusual behavior?
🛠️ Did you need repairs just to make it through the season?

These little observations can tell you a lot.

Your system may be cooling today, but that doesn't necessarily mean everything is performing at its best. And waiting until the first really cold day to find out there's another problem isn't much fun either. 😅

🍂 FALL IS OUR TRANSITION SEASON

The weeks between heavy summer cooling and winter heating are a great opportunity to:

✔️ Address issues noticed during summer
✔️ Catch worn electrical or mechanical components
✔️ Check airflow and system condition
✔️ Prepare heating equipment before colder weather arrives
✔️ Discuss replacement options before an emergency forces the decision

This applies to our commercial customers too. 🏢 If your rooftop units struggled to keep employees, tenants, or customers comfortable this summer, now is a good time to evaluate them while you still have time to plan.

At Monarca HVAC, we'd rather help you understand what your equipment needs and plan ahead than meet you for the first time during an emergency. 🦋

🦋 TIPSY THURSDAY: Your Thermostat Isn’t a Gas Pedal! 🌡️

It’s hot inside, so you drop the thermostat from 78°F all the way down to 65°F hoping the house will cool faster…

But does it actually work? Nope! 😅

On most standard residential and commercial HVAC systems, setting the thermostat dramatically lower doesn’t make the A/C produce colder air or cool the building faster. It simply tells the system to keep running until it reaches that lower temperature.

That can mean:

❄️ Longer run times
⚡ More energy consumption
💰 Higher utility costs
🥶 And possibly a much colder space than you actually wanted

💡 TODAY’S TIP

Set your thermostat to the temperature you actually want and let the system do its job.

If your A/C normally maintains 75°F but suddenly struggles to get below 80°F, continuously lowering the thermostat isn't the solution. That change in performance may be a sign that something needs attention.

It could be related to airflow, dirty components, refrigerant issues, electrical or mechanical problems—or simply extreme outdoor conditions. A proper diagnosis can determine what's actually happening.

🏠 HOMEOWNERS: Pay attention when your system can no longer maintain temperatures it handled normally before.

🏢 BUSINESS OWNERS & PROPERTY MANAGERS: Constantly changing thermostats throughout the day can make comfort complaints harder to evaluate. Consistent settings make it easier to recognize when equipment performance has actually changed.

🦋 TIPSY THURSDAY REMINDER

Your thermostat tells your HVAC system WHERE to go—not how fast to get there.

If your system is struggling, don't keep lowering the temperature. Find out why.

🦋 WEDNESDAY HVAC TIP
Give Your Outdoor Unit Room to Breathe! 🌿❄️

Your outdoor HVAC equipment needs more than electricity to do its job—it also needs proper airflow.

Over time, we commonly find outdoor units surrounded by:

🌿 Overgrown plants and weeds
🍂 Leaves and yard debris
📦 Stored items or equipment
🗑️ Trash cans and other obstructions
🌳 Branches growing too close to the unit
🏢 Debris around commercial rooftop equipment

When airflow around the condenser is restricted, it can make it harder for the system to reject the heat it removes from your home or building. That can contribute to higher operating pressures, reduced efficiency, longer run times, and additional stress on components.

🏠 A QUICK CHECK YOU CAN DO TODAY:

Take a walk outside and look around your equipment.

✅ Keep the surrounding area clear
✅ Trim vegetation growing too close
✅ Remove leaves and loose debris
✅ Don't stack or store items against the unit
✅ Never cover or block the top while the system is operating

One important reminder: The outside may look clean while the condenser coil itself is still dirty. If the coil needs cleaning, especially when buildup is embedded between the fins, it's better to have it properly serviced rather than risk damaging the delicate coil.

🏢 BUSINESS OWNERS & PROPERTY MANAGERS:
Don't forget about rooftop equipment! Rooftop units can accumulate leaves, dirt, grease, cottonwood and other debris that may affect airflow and performance.

🦋 Wednesday Reminder:
Your HVAC system needs room to breathe, too.

A quick look around your equipment today could help you spot a problem before it turns into a service call.

Need maintenance or concerned about something you see? Monarca HVAC is here to help.

🦋 TUESDAY HVAC TIP: Don’t Ignore the “Little” Changes

Your HVAC system usually gives you warning signs before a major breakdown happens. The key is noticing when something has changed. 👀❄️

Have you noticed:

🔊 A new buzzing, rattling, squealing, or clicking sound?
💨 Airflow that suddenly feels weaker?
🌡️ One room or area that isn’t cooling like the others?
⏱️ Your system running longer than usual?
💧 Unexplained moisture or water around your equipment?
👃 A new or unusual smell when the system turns on?
⚡ Your system starting and stopping more frequently than normal?

These symptoms don't automatically mean you need a major repair—but they are worth paying attention to.

Catching a worn component, airflow problem, drainage issue, or electrical concern early can sometimes prevent a much more expensive service call later.

🏠 Homeowners: If something about your system suddenly seems different, don't wait for it to completely stop working.

🏢 Business Owners & Property Managers: Encourage employees and tenants to report unusual HVAC noises, temperatures, odors, or leaks early. Small observations can be incredibly helpful when diagnosing equipment.

🦋 Tuesday Reminder:
You know what “normal” sounds and feels like in your home or business. When something changes, your HVAC system may be trying to tell you something.
