So thankful!!!

This week was a fun one for me! First I got to do gender reveal party cupcakes for a great friend! So excited for them! šŸ©·šŸ’™

Second, my parents are retiring after devoting their careers and lives to a family business! The wash of emotions havenā€™t hit yet but we are so excited for them and this next chapter! I was honored to make cupcakes for their last week! Stop out at Prince Gun Shop to wish them luck on their new adventure and grab a cupcake or two!

Even though I said I would Iā€™ve been very hesitant to follow through with sharing!

But someone is pushing me to share a passion Iā€™ve been hiding..

So Iā€™ve been baking, but itā€™s not what you think! Even though I still have my starters. They are just napping right now šŸ¤£

A little backstory: Our oldest son Lane, is highly allergic to pretty much any nut you can think of. A majority of the major ā€œbakeriesā€ or box store(coborns, Walmart and Samā€™s Club) are all cross contaminated. With not wanting to put him at risk and still be able to enjoy all the things other kids get to at parties I decided I was going to start making my kids cakes and family has followed suit. There is nothing worse than telling a 2 year old he canā€™t have something because he doesnā€™t understand his risks yet.

Now where does this come in you may ask? Iā€™ve taken the leap and decided to make Elm Creek also a nut allergy friendly bakery! Iā€™m working on the menu still but wanted to put feelers out for menu ideas and possible bookings!

Stay tuned for the menu shortly but Iā€™m thinking breads, cookies, cupcakes and maybe a few surprises!

Hi all!

Itā€™s been awhile but we are eager to give an update!

The farm has seen some updates and turn around in our cows and calves. Itā€™s been a rough season for us and we are heart broken to have had to get rid of 4 of our girls. With those 4 off to new homes we bought 2 from a local farm.

We now have our 3 black angus girls who have produced us 3 beautiful calves this year. 2 bull calves and 1 heifer.

Though weā€™ve had set backs weā€™ve excelled in other aspects on the farm!

To name a few.

ā€¢ garden is planted and flourishing
ā€¢ 5 baby kittens our kids are obsessed with checking on
ā€¢ the chickens are laying and weā€™re looking to add more to our layers flock
ā€¢ Iā€™m baking again(more to come on that)

Raising the kids in the farm was always a goal for Driston and I. They have become more comfortable and more themselves, which makes them feral animals 90% of the time!
