Site preparation is just as important as the installation itself. Without proper site preparation your plans and your project will ultimately fail. For this project, we’ll be installing 2,500 SF worth of Meyer zoysia. However, that requires extensive excavation and soil prep beforehand. Once the machines have completed the initial grading, we’ll be coming in to hand rake and finish the grade so that it’s sod ready. Install is scheduled for tomorrow. Happy fall 🍂 🍁

Grading out this hillside with the TL8 Takeuchi in preparation for the installation of new zoysia sod.

Once grading is complete, we’ll be doing a final rake and cleanup, adding in some topsoil and landscape mix, applying a starter fertilizer with mycorrhiza, and last but not least laying some Meyer zoysia.

This project involved creating a dry creek bed to provide drainage support in an area of the property where the client was concerned about runoff. This dry creek bed was completed utilizing 6 oz geo-textile fabric and 2 different types of egg rock and river rock. The end result was not only functional, but also aesthetically pleasing as well.
