✨ When talented people come together, beautiful things happen! ✨

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying this incredible new-build collaboration with Tweeds, Tim Kulin Cabinetry and Talon Custom Homes! 🏡

It’s such a pleasure working alongside so many talented professionals who bring their expertise and creativity to every detail!

I’ve had the opportunity to lead the design selections for the kitchen and baths, interior and exterior lighting, and exterior stucco colors, helping bring a cohesive vision to life from the inside out!

Next up: Countertops and backsplash! 🤩

And can we talk about that KILLER view of Pikes Peak?! 🏔️😍 As if this project couldn’t get any better, I also got to meet Ricky, the adorable Talon Custom Homes mascot! 🐾🥰

I absolutely love seeing a vision come together through great teamwork, thoughtful design, and a whole lot of talent!

Stay tuned for the final reveal! I can’t wait to share how everything comes together! ✨

💬 I’m curious… if you were building your dream home, what would you be most excited to select: kitchen finishes, lighting, or exterior colors?

💙 Be honest… would you choose these countertops for YOUR kitchen? YES or NO? 👇

✨ Our latest Blue Mountain Creative kitchen project just got a gorgeous upgrade with the installation of Taj Mahal Quartzite countertops!

Did you know Taj Mahal Quartzite is a natural stone quarried in Brazil? 🇧🇷 Named after the iconic Taj Mahal in India, this stunning stone is known for its creamy ivory tones, subtle golden veining, and beautiful natural movement.

Formed deep within the Earth through intense heat and pressure, quartzite offers the luxurious appearance of marble with impressive durability, making it a wonderful choice for kitchens.

What I especially love about Taj Mahal is its timeless beauty and warmth. Its soft, neutral tones complement the cabinetry in this kitchen perfectly, creating a space that feels elegant, inviting, and effortlessly classic.

✨ And we’re not finished yet! Next up is a beautiful mosaic backsplash that will tie the entire design together. I can’t wait to share the finished look!

A huge thank you to Basecamp Construction for all your hard work and craftsmanship bringing this vision to life! 🙌

Thanks to Planet Granite for the high quality installation!

💬 Now tell me… is Taj Mahal Quartzite a YES or NO for your dream kitchen? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Sometimes a small change can completely transform a space. ✨

For this downstairs bar, the existing silver backsplash just wasn’t working with the rich, dark wood cabinetry. We wanted to bring in more warmth while adding a subtle hint of Western character that felt connected to the rest of the home.

This wood-look chevron tile was the perfect fit. The deeper tones tie into the cabinetry, while the warmer variations complement the quartz countertops and the mix of wood tones found throughout the home. The chevron pattern adds just enough personality without overpowering the space.

A small facelift, but a big difference. 🤎

Is there an area in your home that could use a little refresh?

Be honest… does your dog match your home decor? 😂🐾

Because apparently mine matches the furniture AND my laptop bag. At this point, I’m not sure whether I chose my color palette… or my dog did. 🤎😂

Happy National Dog Day! 🐶✨

Now I need to know — if you designed a room inspired by your dog, what would the color palette be? 🎨🐾

Tell me below! 👇 Bonus points if your pup already matches your home. 😂

Project update ✨

This client wanted an eclectic style with a hint of Southwest—warm and inviting, but without leaning into the typical mountain home aesthetic.

We’re mixing rich textures, warm tones, natural materials, and pieces from varying styles to create a space that feels collected, layered, and completely unique to her.

The sofa was delivered today, and it’s so exciting to see the vision starting to come together! There are still so many beautiful pieces on the way that will bring in those final layers of personality.

Can’t wait to share this one as it continues to take shape. 🤎

✨ Project update from a new bistro in Woodland Park!

Besides the fresh paint colors and new wainscoting throughout the space, this is the part I'm most excited about!

If you remember from an earlier post, I shared my solution for the support post that was previously surrounded by bar seating. The problem was that there wasn't enough clearance between that bar top and the main bar. If multiple people were sitting there, it made it difficult for guests and staff to move comfortably through the space.

The new owners also want to showcase locally made products like handcrafted soaps, candles, and other artisan goods. Since the support post isn't going anywhere, I decided to embrace it instead of trying to hide it. We're creating a custom circular display around the post that will beautifully highlight products from local makers.

Then I started thinking... it would be such a shame to lose that beautiful w**e barrel. After gathering inspiration, I came up with an even better idea. We're transforming and expanding the w**e barrel into a larger retail display that can hold even more locally made products. Above it, we'll be adding three custom shelves with integrated lighting to really make the display stand out.

A huge thank you to John with His Wondrous Works for his incredible craftsmanship and for walking us through how he's bringing this vision to life. I love working with talented local artisans to create one-of-a-kind solutions that are both beautiful and functional.

I can't wait to share the finished space with you. Stay tuned!

This is my first commercial project in over a decade—and I couldn’t be more excited!

The last commercial space I designed was an Italian pottery showroom in Kansas City back in 2014. I’ve been waiting for the right project to jump back into commercial design, and this one is the perfect fit.

The owner wanted to keep the existing tile backsplash, so we used it as inspiration for the new color palette. We’re refreshing the space with Sherwin-Williams Accessible Beige, a sophisticated smoky blue, Cyberspace on the doors and trim, and new wainscoting to add character while making the space feel brighter and more spacious.

One design challenge was the high-top table surrounding the center support post. While it seemed like a good seating area, it wasn’t functioning particularly well because of the limited clearance between it and the bar. If both areas were occupied, moving through the space became difficult.

Since the support post couldn’t go anywhere, I started thinking… what if we turned it into a feature instead?

One of my favorite design solutions was transforming that awkward area into a custom display feature. Instead of removing the existing w**e barrel, we’re incorporating it into a unique display that will showcase products from local makers while preserving valuable seating space.

A special thank you to Tweeds Fine Furnishings and His Wondrous Works for collaborating on this project. I appreciate partnering with local businesses to create spaces that support our community.

The transformation is just getting started, and I can’t wait to share the progress!

Way to go, Jason with Exclusive Mountain Designs! 🔥

Loving the bold red that perfectly reflect our client’s vibrant personality as an artist. Her stunning abstract artwork—filled with rich reds, blues, and expressive color—will become a focal point in this Airstream transformatiom.

This project keeps getting more exciting, and I can’t wait to share more updates as it comes together!

If you were designing a space around a piece of artwork, would you match the colors exactly or use complementary colors to make it stand out? 🎨👇
