There’s nothing quite like the smell of homemade cinnamon rolls baking on a crisp fall morning! 🍁☕ Warm, gooey and topped with sweet icing, this is fall comfort food at its best.
Homemade Cinnamon Rolls
Dough:
1 cup warm milk
2¼ tsp. active dry yeast
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup melted butter
1 egg
½ tsp. salt
3–3½ cups flour
Filling:
½ cup softened butter
¾ cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp. cinnamon
Simple Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
½ tsp. vanilla
Mix warm milk, yeast and sugar and let sit for about 5 minutes. Add melted butter, egg and salt, then gradually mix in the flour. Knead until smooth and let rise until doubled in size.
Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread with butter and sprinkle generously with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll it up, slice into rolls and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise again for about 30 minutes.
Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes, or until golden. Mix the icing ingredients and drizzle over the warm rolls.
Then comes the hardest part…waiting long enough to take that first bite! 😋
Because fall mornings are just a little sweeter when something homemade is baking in the kitchen.
