general contractor of the Sleeping Bear Inn team, George MacEachern at the 2026 Michigan Historic Preservation Network Award Ceremony last week! Our project won thr Michigan Historic Preservation Building Award- the highest honor bestowed for the restoration of thr Sleeping Bear Inn in Glen Haven, Michigan! Now (mostly) retired, Sleeping Bear Inn is a legacy project for George as he wound down his career with this monumental historic adaptive reuse project. Truly one of the greatest builders in Michigan, George poured his heart and soul into every inch of Sleeping Bear Inn and without his expertise, skill and sacrifice, we wonder if the Inn would still be sleeping! Book your room this summer and enjoy scenic Lake Michigan from this exquisite bed and breakfast!

We were just awarded the Michigan Historic Preservation Building Award for the incredibly restored in Glen Arbor, Michigan! The Building Award is presented to outstanding rehabilitation projects that have made a significant contribution to the preservation of Michigan’s heritage. So proud of Maggie, Jeff, George and the team for reopening this historic landmark and choosing to cleverly modernize the historic Inn to be such a FUN up north destination at thr base of Sleeping Bear dunes!
