Even when a tree survives a storm without visible damage, the stress underneath can linger. Wind-whipped roots, saturated soil, and broken feeder roots can all quietly weaken a tree in the weeks after a storm passes through.

Signs to watch for: thinning canopy, leaf drop out of season, or slower-than-normal growth. Our plant health care team can assess root and soil health to help your trees bounce back stronger.

Today is National Public Lands Day, a great reminder that caring for our environment starts close to home. 🌳

Trees do a lot of quiet work for our communities: filtering the air we breathe, providing shade that cools our neighborhoods, supporting local wildlife, and helping manage stormwater during Florida's rainiest seasons.

Whether it's a single live oak in your backyard or a whole property full of trees and plants, taking care of what you have is one of the simplest ways to give back to the land around you.

Want to make sure your plants are set up to thrive for years to come? Our team is here to help.

September is peak storm season here in Northeast Florida, and your trees are often the first line of defense (or the first thing to fall) when a storm rolls through.

Weak limbs, cracked unions, and lean can turn a bad storm into a bigger problem fast.

If you haven't had your trees evaluated yet this season, or require storm cleanup services, contact our team of experts today.

Call us at (904) 269-4069 or visit treetechfl.com to schedule an assessment.

Sandy soil and heavy rain can shift pH more than most homeowners realize, making it harder for trees to absorb nutrients. The result: yellowing leaves, slow growth, or a plant that just isn't thriving.

A simple soil test tells us what's really going on, and how to fix it.

Curious what your soil is telling you? Our plant health care team can help.

Most tree failures during summer storms are predictable when structural defects are present.

Primary risk indicators include:
> Co-dominant stems with tight or included bark
> Heavy lateral limbs with long horizontal reach
> Deadwood in upper canopy that increases wind resistance

These are not random failures. They are load distribution problems that worsen over time as the tree matures and gains weight.

Targeted structural pruning can reduce wind sail, redistribute weight, and lower failure risk without removing the entire tree.

If a tree has multiple stems or large overextended limbs, it is worth evaluating before peak storm activity.

Call (904) 269-4069 to schedule a structural risk assessment.

Not all summer leaf drop is disease. In many cases, we are seeing heat and moisture stress that gets mistaken for infection.

Key indicators:
> Wilting that worsens in afternoon heat but improves overnight
> Leaf drop starting on outer canopy first
> No consistent pattern of spotting, lesions, or fungal growth

When it is disease, symptoms tend to progress in a more uniform and accelerating pattern regardless of temperature swings.

In hot July conditions, irrigation timing, soil compaction, and root zone exposure are often the real drivers behind decline.

An ISA-certified arborist can determine whether the issue is physiological stress or a true pathogen concern before unnecessary removal or treatment decisions are made.
