Our Paint & Sip series is back at Warner’s, and the next one is happening THIS Friday, August 28!

Join us from 5:30–8:30 PM for a relaxing evening of painting, wine and tasty treats right here at the nursery.

🎨 $50 per person, refreshments included

🔥 Meet the plant that looks like it's got a little fire burning inside: the Mandarin Plant (aka Fire Flash, aka the Orange Spider Plant)!

Most houseplants show off through their leaves or flowers — this one does it through its stems. Those bright orange petioles rise up dramatically against deep green foliage, and the effect is stunning.

Bonus: it's a relative of the classic spider plant, and just as easygoing. Not picky about light (low, medium, or bright all work — just skip direct sun and deep shade), and forgiving if you forget to water it for a week or two. Just let the top inch of soil dry out between waterings.

Low-maintenance drama for your plant shelf. 🧡🌱

Houseplant of the Week: Neanthe Bella Palm! 🌴

Looking to bring a little tropical elegance indoors? Say hello to Neanthe Bella, aka the Parlor Palm! 🌿

This classic houseplant has been a favorite for generations, thanks to its lush, graceful leaves and easygoing personality. Give it the right conditions and it can eventually grow 3–4 feet tall, although it’s in no hurry. (We respect that.)

☀️ Light: Medium to bright light is best. A north or west-facing window is ideal, but keep it out of direct sunlight.

💧 Water: Keep the soil evenly moist. Don’t let it completely dry out, but don’t leave your palm sitting in water, either. Fifteen minutes is plenty!

🌱 Feed it: Parlor Palms are a little hungrier than most indoor palms. Give yours a slow-release fertilizer once a month in spring and summer. Brown leaf tips can be a sign you’re giving it a little too much.

Elegant, lush and perfectly happy indoors? Sounds like a palm we can get behind. 🌴💚

Say hello to Dieffenbachia 'Starbright' — one seriously good-looking houseplant.

Those slender leaves are splashed with creamy white and speckled green, almost like someone flicked a paintbrush across every one (in the best way). It's easy-going too — happy in low light, not fussy about attention, just an all-around show-off for your home or office.

The care routine is refreshingly simple:
💡 Bright, filtered light (protect that new growth from harsh sun!)
💧 Keep the soil moist, not swampy
🌱 A little nitrogen fertilizer every couple weeks = happy, growing leaves

One plot twist though 👀 — this beauty has a nickname: "dumb cane."

Why? Its sap is a mild irritant, and if little ones or pets get a taste, it can cause temporary throat swelling and loss of speech. So gorgeous, but best kept up high and out of curious reach!

Tall, dark, handsome... and incredibly easy to grow? Sounds like the perfect match! 😍

This week we're shining the spotlight on the Rubber Tree—a houseplant that brings big style with very little fuss. Its rich, glossy leaves make a bold statement, and it's one of the easiest plants to keep happy, whether you're a seasoned plant parent or just getting started.

Here's what your Rubber Tree loves:
☀️ Bright, indirect light (just skip the harsh afternoon sun!)
💧 A good drink about once a week in spring and summer, then every other week in the cooler months.
🌱 A little fertilizer in spring and summer is all it needs to keep growing strong.
If you notice roots peeking out above the soil, don't worry! Those are aerial roots, and they're just part of this plant's unique charm.
