In the rearview mirror, but still on our minds is the Texas Trade show in San Antonio last month. It was probably the busiest show we’ve experienced over the last 14 years. Veronica is convinced it was because she was also showcasing her daughter Harmony, as I had done previously with my son, Spike. Of course, I think we all know Lido was THE big draw this year not to mention the primo product shown from Samson Botanicals, Premier Growers/Trees of America , Sunshine Hort and Micro Paradox. Lest we forget, Noknoi went above and beyond with getting us a wide selection of Thailand material to show off as well. Who knows, maybe next year with the show being held in Houston, it’ll be necessary for our Head of Security and New Products, Lido, to be present in the fur, to meet and greet in booth 4002 (2027 Expo)!

Nursery/Landscape Expo in San Antonio, BOOTH # 919, August 12-13 (Exhibit Hall 2), here we come! Tim insists Lido will have a greater booth presence this year. Depending on how obnoxious he plans on being, that can mean several things, but hopefully not us wearing our Ray Charles sunglasses while Lido does the greeting & sales. Who knew you can order service dog vests anywhere on the world wide web?

Tim spent some time with Andy Warhol and Brian Dawes of The Potted Plumeria Nursery at the Peace River Botanical & sculpture Gardens in beautiful Punta Gorda over the Memorial Day weekend. Excitement was high from this SRO crowd for this interactive gathering of Plumeria collectors. Brian as expected, maintained everyone’s attention with his commanding take on growing and maintaining Plumeria. Besides the aforementioned star, the cast of characters included Bondi’s latest Plumeria introduction out of Thailand, ‘Great Wall’, along with a fine leafed Cuban variety ‘Filifolia’ a variegated Pudica and the always impressive ‘Maya’.

Tim ran into these wild and crazy guys at Cultivate’25. Could they be any cooler sans leisure suits? By the way, Briggs Nursery and Greenbelt Growers (two of our premier west coast suppliers) will be exhibiting for the first time at TNLA’s Nursery/Landscape Expo this year! We’ll have samples of their material, along with much more, in Bondi’s Booth #3214. The dates are August 6th and 7th in San Antonio, as usual. Be sure to drop in and see what condition our condition is in! (nod to Kenny Rogers and the First Edition ;)
See ya’ll in Texas!
