108 CUBIC YARDS. ONE SHOT. ONE DRIVEWAY POUR!
Congratulations to Anthony Cook for the closest guess! đ
This isnât our only big pour, but it is the biggest driveway pour weâve ever done: 7,600 square feet in one shot!
So, what did it take to get this one MadeRight, on time?
đȘ Brought in extra labor. We have a large team, but we know when a job calls for more hands. Bringing in extra help allowed us to keep the work moving and deliver a consistent-colored driveway for our client, on time.
đ§Ș Adjusted our mix. We worked closely with our concrete supplier throughout the pour, making real-time adjustments to set additives on individual trucks to keep everything working together.
đ€ Spread out. Teamwork means knowing where youâre needed most. Many of us focused on one side of the driveway, while one crew member spent three hours on the island, helping finish the surrounding concrete.
đ„Ș Ate lunch late. We donât always get to choose our lunch break. Concrete doesnât care what time it is, and neither do its set times.
đ§ Built a dam. We brought in loads of clay to fill a swale so trucks could get closer to the work. Weâre not willing to sacrifice our steel reinforcement, forms, or prepared subgrade just to make truck access easier.
đ Found our limits. We push ourselves every day, but a pour like this challenges every member of the team at once. It shows us what weâre capable of and gives our guys opportunities to work with tools and take on responsibilities they might not normally get.
đ Worked late. We donât love long days that keep us away from friends and family. And we know the neighbors donât necessarily want to hear us working into the evening, either. But moving a pour isnât always simple. We may lose the perfect day and time we secured eight days earlier.
Hereâs the thing: big pours donât always go exactly as planned. Sometimes things take longer, access gets complicated, or the conditions demand more from the crew.
Whatever the reason, we donât quit until itâs ready for concrete.
Thatâs what MadeRight means to us. Itâs not just about the finished product. Itâs about the planning, the teamwork, the adjustments, and the commitment to doing things rightâeven when it gets tough.
With FlatMade, itâll be MadeRight. (on time) đŻ
Whatâs your guess on our total yardage for this pour today?
