Ground has officially been broken in Dunkirk, Ohio! 🚧

RCM Architects, Inc. is proud to be the designer for the new The First Citizens National Bank drive-up ITM project. The project includes a new ITM with canopy, new entry onto the property, and additional site improvements designed to enhance the customer experience and functionality of the location.

Looking Back | This Month in 2010 ✨

This month in 2010, the University of Findlay Recreation Center officially opened. The University commissioned RCM Architects, Inc. to convert the former Clauss Ice Rink into a 30,000 SF, year-round recreation facility. Today, it’s home to a multi-purpose space for basketball, volleyball, tennis, and an indoor running track. Standout amenities include a 25' climbing wall, cafe, racquetball court, exercise room and varsity weight room.

Now complete and available through the Hancock Park District, this project creates welcoming spaces for community gathering, recreation, and connection. We’re honored to have contributed to this meaningful addition to the community.

Meet Brett Gies, Vice President at RCM Architects, Inc.

Since joining RCM in 2009, Brett has expanded our expertise by introducing site design, master planning, recreational and greenway planning, and landscape architecture services. His portfolio includes the University of Findlay Campus Master Plan, Marathon Center for the Performing Arts, Cooper Tire Track & Field Complex, Dorney Plaza Redevelopment, and numerous parks, trails, and community planning initiatives. Brett's attention to detail and commitment to understanding each client's goals help create lasting outdoor spaces that strengthen the communities we serve.

Great design can help solve real community challenges.

With extensive experience designing childcare facilities across northwest Ohio, RCM Architects, Inc. is proud to join a task force focused on addressing Ohio's childcare shortage. According to the Policy Matters Ohio - Childcare Crisis Report, Hancock County is considered a childcare desert, with 10 children waiting for every available childcare opening.

Over the past several years, we've had the privilege of designing spaces that support children, families, educators, and employers, including:
• Findlay YMCA Early Learning Center
• Little Panther Learning Center - McComb
• Community Action Commission Head Start - Findlay
• Bright Minds Learning Center - Carey
• Around the Clock Learning Center - Findlay
Additional childcare centers are in the planning stages.

We believe well-designed childcare environments do more than provide a place for learning—they strengthen families, support local employers, and help communities grow. We're honored to be part of the conversation and committed to helping create solutions through thoughtful design.
