Owning a small business has always had its ups and downs, but this year has been especially challenging. And I know we aren’t alone. I talk with other small business owners, artists and vendors, and so many of us are feeling the same thing.
When you own a small business, you don’t just clock out at 5:00 and leave it behind. You take it home with you. You think about it at dinner. You wake up thinking about it in the middle of the night. You worry about your vendors, your bills, your customers and whether you’re doing enough to keep everything moving forward.
Artistic Interiors is so much more than a store to me.
It’s something Mike and I have poured our hearts into. It’s a place where more than 30 local artists and vendors have an opportunity to share what THEY love and create. It’s a place where customers have become friends, where we laugh, catch up on life and genuinely look forward to seeing familiar faces walk through the door.
That’s why every single person who chooses to shop with us matters.
Every piece of furniture you purchase. Every candle, pair of earrings, outfit, bar of soap or little gift. Every class you attend. Every Facebook post you share. It all matters more than you probably realize.
Small businesses throughout Michigan need our communities right now.
Please don’t wait until your favorite little shop announces that it’s closing to say, “I loved that place.” ❤️
Visit them now. Shop there when you can. Share their posts. Leave them a review. Tell your friends about them. Sometimes something as simple as sharing a Facebook post puts that business in front of the one person who needed to see it that day.
