CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ASSISTANT
Full-Time | Felton, Delaware
C&M Custom Homes is looking for a dependable, hands-on Construction Project Assistant to support our Project Manager and help keep our custom-home projects moving toward completion.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic construction knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to grow within the residential construction industry. Extensive experience is not required—hands-on training will be provided. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, notices the details, and is willing to learn.
Responsibilities
• Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day needs at residential construction sites
• Help complete punch-list items and minor repairs
• Perform basic carpentry, drywall, painting, trim, hardware, and general maintenance tasks
• Deliver materials, supplies, and tools to job sites as needed
• Help prepare homes for inspections, homeowner walkthroughs, and final completion
• Identify incomplete or damaged work and communicate concerns to the Project Manager
• Coordinate respectfully with subcontractors, vendors, homeowners, and other team members
• Help maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
• Take photographs and document project progress when requested
• Complete other construction-related tasks as assigned
What We’re Looking For
• Some residential construction, maintenance, remodeling, or handyman experience is preferred
• Basic knowledge of tools and construction practices
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Willingness to learn and accept direction
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage changing priorities in an active construction environment
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting materials and working indoors and outdoors
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Professional and respectful demeanor when working in clients’ homes
