It's time for your Week 2 Fall Foliage Report! 🍂🍁

While autumn colors continue to spread across much of the Commonwealth, recent cold nights have helped fall colors reach their peak in the north. Bright, colorful leaves are now easy to spot in most Pennsylvania forests.

The best places to enjoy the season right now are the northern counties, the northern Poconos, and the Laurel Highlands.

This weekend is the last weekend to ride our ATV trails before they close for fall maintenance. Our ATV trails will close after this Sunday (September 27, 2026) and reopen for winter use on Sunday, December 13.

We are resharing this reminder as we approach the weekend of the event. Be alert for motorcycles on trails and roads across the forest on Sunday!

❗Upcoming Event Alert & ATV Trail Closure❗
The South Penn Enduro Riders event will take place Sunday, September 13. Big Flat Parking Lot will be closed all day, and the ATV trails will be closed from 8 AM until 1 PM for this event. Big Pond Road will also be closed from 11 AM until 2 PM. Be aware of extra traffic stay alert for motorcycles on roads and trails in the forest north of Route 30. Please note: our trails and gated roads are only open to motorcycles during this event.
