Let’s talk wood rot…

There are very few roofs that we’ve replaced that do not have some variation of wood rot.

This occurs for a number of reasons

✔️ Physical damage from storms and debris
✔️ Rusted nails and fasteners
✔️ Improperly installed satellite dishes
✔️ Broken or worn out vents and pipe boots

This particular roof lacked adequate underlayment at the gutter line causing significant damage to the sheathing, trusses, and even leaking inside the house.

We fight this by installing ice and water shield per code over the first 36” of roof behind the gutter line. This prevents snow and ice from accumulating and soaking under the shingles. Boyd Roofing
