Sandy Public works was honored last evening with the “Project of The Year” award for the Sandy City Administration Building from the American Public Works Association (APWA) Utah Chapter. Standing left to right are; Mike Gladbach, Director Sandy PW; Brent Ventura, President APWA Utah Chapter; Kelly Rasmussen Ascent Construction Project Manager; Steve Switzer, PM Michael Baker International; and Bob Murri, VP Ascent. Scott Holmes of JRCA was the architect on the project. Of particular note was the Low-Impact Development (LID) elements incorporated into this project. Congratulations to all who contributed to the success of this award-winning facility. Congratulations especially to Sandy City for leading the way in effective LID implementation.

The open house for the new Davis Vision Center was a party! K-Bull 93, The Zone Sports Network and lots of food trucks were there to make the event complete. What a beautiful building designed by Nichols Naylor Architects—nice work Russ and Ryan. To Brian Davis and his awesome staff, we say CONGRATULATIONS and much success to you in the future! Last week we walked through our current remodel of West Bountiful Elementary with the principal and her teaching staff. For the first time they were able to see classrooms where they will teach next year.
