🫛 WE WON THE OKRA BATTLE! 🏆🌱

Last year, deer & rabbits destroyed almost 90% of my young okra plants before they even had a chance to produce. 😩

This year? WE CAME PREPARED! 💪🏾🔥 And just LOOK at this harvest! 😍

Who else is battling garden critters this year? 🐇🦌👇🏾

🌶️ PEPPERS ARE LOVING THIS HEAT! 🔥🌶️

Hot, sweet, big, small, green, orange, red… the harvest keeps coming! 😍 And here’s the fun part: you don’t need a huge garden to grow peppers. I have them growing in the ground, raised beds AND 5-gallon containers, over 25 plants! 🙌

✨ Small space? Grow peppers anyway!
Save this for next season and tell me: What’s your favorite pepper to grow? 🌶️👇

🥬 Waste Less, Grow More!🌱

I planted the ends of store-bought leeks—and 2 weeks later, they’re sprouting! 🤩 Even faster than the leeks I started from seed a month ago!

Leeks are cold-hardy and love cool weather, making them a perfect addition to my fall garden. 🍂

Would you try regrowing your leeks from scraps? 👇

🍈 FIRST CANTALOUPE HARVEST!🍈🎉

Our first Minnesota Midget musk melon is off the vine—and WOW! 🤤 Juicy, sweet & delicious!

Here are my 3 signs it was ready 👇

🌿 Dry tendril: A tendril is the little curly, thread-like growth that grabs onto things near the fruit. When the tendril closest to the melon turns brown/dry, it’s a good ripeness clue.

🟡 Field spot: Flip the melon over! The field spot is the area that rested on the ground. As the melon ripens, it changes from green/white to creamy yellow or golden yellow. A green spot usually means it needs more time.

👃 Sweet fruity smell: When it starts smelling wonderfully sweet at the blossom end, that's another great sign!

This little melon passed ALL THREE tests… and the taste test was even better! 😋🍈

How do YOU know your cantaloupe is ready? Tell me your best ripeness trick! 👇 And if you're new to growing melons,
follow along—we're learning and growing together! 🌱💚

🧅 Onion harvest = HUGE!🧅🌱

Started most of these Patterson & Red Wing long-day onions from seed indoors in March, plus a few white onions. The bulbs may be smaller this year, but WOW… the harvest made up for it! 😍

They’re cured, dried, and ready for storage! 🙌 They should last about 4 to 6 months, much longer for the Patterson. But I am sure they will be used up by then, among my family and friends.

Who else grows onions from seed? How did your harvest do this year? 👇

🦝 Raccoons: 0 | Us: 1! 😂🎃

Last year, the raccoons feasted on most of our kabocha squash & pumpkins. NOT this year! 🙅🏾‍♀️ These cheap Dollar Tree laundry baskets are doing the job! 💪🏾🌱

Gardeners, what’s your most creative way to outsmart raccoons and other garden critters? 👀😂👇🏾
Let's win together.
