💙 A Heartfelt Announcement from Malibu Pools 💙
After a lot of thought, reflection, and some incredibly difficult decisions, we have decided that Malibu Pools will officially close its retail storefront effective November 1, 2026.
This is probably one of the hardest announcements I’ve ever had to make.
Being a small business owner is tough. It’s not for everybody, and unless you’ve lived it, it’s hard to truly understand what goes on behind the scenes.
People see the business, the storefront, the trucks, and the work getting done. What they don’t always see are the sleepless nights, the financial stress, the long hours, the missed family time, and the personal sacrifices it takes just to keep the doors open.
There have been times I’ve given everything I had, only to feel like it still wasn’t enough.
Over the years, there have been hardships, struggles, relationships lost, friendships changed, and feelings hurt in ways that words will never fully explain. Some of those things will stay with me long after the doors close.
The hardest part of owning a business isn’t always the work itself. Sometimes it’s what you lose along the way while trying so hard to make something succeed.
I’ve learned that you can work yourself to exhaustion, put everyone else’s needs ahead of your own, and still not make everyone happy.
And somewhere along the way, you have to ask yourself what it’s all costing you.
This decision isn’t about giving up. It’s about realizing that sometimes things have to change, not because you failed, but because continuing down the same road comes at a price that’s simply too high.
To our customers, I want to make a few things very clear:
All previously scheduled work will be completed.
All existing warranties will continue to be honored.
We will continue standing behind the work we’ve done and the customers who have trusted us.
This is not goodbye to Malibu Pools. It’s goodbye to the way we’ve been doing business.
🌊 A NEW CHAPTER — SPRING 2027 🌊
Malibu Pools will be returning with a different look and a different approach.
We will no longer operate a traditional retail storefront. Instead, we’ll be bringing our services directly to our customers through:
💧 Mobile pool water testing
💧 Pool chemical delivery right to your home
💧 More personalized service without the need to visit a store
Our goal is to get back to the basics, simplify our operation, and focus on the things that made us love this business in the first place.
To every customer who has supported us, every person who has recommended us, and everyone who has stood behind us through the good times and the bad — thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I know I haven’t always gotten everything right. I’ve made mistakes, learned some painful lessons, and carried burdens that most people will never know about. But I’ve always tried to do the best I could with what I had.
I’m proud of what we’ve built, even if the journey hasn’t turned out exactly how I once pictured it.
Sometimes the strongest thing a person can do isn’t to keep pushing forward. Sometimes it’s knowing when to change direction before they lose everything that truly matters.
So, as this chapter comes to a close, I choose to be thankful for the good memories, learn from the difficult ones, and look forward to a fresh start.
