Cass County Electric Cooperative (CCEC) is located in the heart of the Red River Valley and Cass County. We belong to, and were built by, the communities we serve. CCEC doesn’t have shareholders or customers: We have members, and we’re not only committed to providing them with reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy, but we’re also passionate about enhancing the quality of life for our more than 55,000 members. As a local business staffed by your friends and neighbors, CCEC is finding new ways to make a difference – beyond delivering electricity. Although we’re local and independent, we’re also part of something bigger: local cooperatives work together to develop new technologies and infrastructure across the country. We’re a driving force in helping attract and grow business and industry to our area, and we are active in our EDCs, various Chamber of Commerce and have a business accounts program to help our small and large business members succeed. We’re always looking for new ways to help our members save energy, save money, and take advantage of the more efficient technology that’s changed the way we live. We’re also a great place to work. We’re uniquely positioned to be a force for good in our community. We invest in our employees through ongoing education and training, so we can better serve our members in the places they live, work, and learn. That’s just one of the seven cooperative principles CCEC and all cooperatives follow. To learn about us, visit CassCountyElectric.com.

☀️ Thinking about adding solar? There’s an important step before you plug in.

Solar that isn’t properly interconnected can create dangerous conditions on the electric system, including energizing lines during an outage.

Before installing or energizing a system, know what’s required to protect your home, our crews, and the grid.

📖 Learn about safe solar interconnection:

Proper Interconnection is Critical

Cleaning gutters is a common fall chore, but it can become dangerous fast if ladders get too close to overhead power lines.

Before you set up or move a ladder, take a moment to look up and look around. Always keep ladders, tools and yourself a safe distance away from power lines.

A few extra seconds of awareness can help prevent a serious accident!

After missing nationals his junior year, Hayden wrote one goal on the board near his bedroom: become a world champion.

One year later, he did. Now, the local ba****ck rider is taking on his next chapter at the college level.

Apparently, our power poles have become the hottest real estate in town.

A beaver thought a pole looked like a five-star meal. Meanwhile, a woodpecker decided another pole was the perfect place for a home renovation. 🦫🐦

We're not sure who gave the local wildlife permission to start eating and remodeling our infrastructure, but we'd like to have a word.

All jokes aside, these little troublemakers can cause BIG problems. Chewing and drilling holes into wooden power poles can weaken them, creating safety hazards and potentially leading to outages.

👀 See something? Say something! If you notice unusual holes, chew marks, or other damage to a power pole, keep your distance and report it to our power control center at 701-356-4400.

We support local wildlife. Just not their construction projects. ⚡
