There’s a difference between getting the job done and taking pride in how it gets done.

We’re proud to have a crew that shows up every day, puts in the work, holds themselves to a high standard, and cares about doing things the right way.

That kind of work ethic doesn’t go unnoticed — and it’s a big part of who we are.

🌳 So… what does an arborist actually do?

More than just look at a tree and say, “Yep, that needs to come down.”

A Certified Arborist understands how trees grow, what keeps them healthy, what puts them at risk, and when there’s actually a reason for concern.

That might mean pruning a problem limb, catching disease or stress early, recommending treatment, removing a hazardous tree—or telling you that perfectly good tree doesn’t need anything at all.

Because good tree care isn’t about cutting more. It’s about knowing more.

We have ISA Certified Arborists on staff to help you understand what’s happening with your trees and make the right call for your property.

Know the tree. Know the risk. Know what to do next.

September may technically be a fall month, but the Gulf Coast has other plans. 🌳

It’s still hot. Still humid. Afternoon storms are still rolling through, and hurricane season is far from over. Our trees are still growing — and still taking whatever the Gulf Coast throws at them.

So while you’re waiting on that first cool front, take a look up. Dead limbs, old storm damage, or something that just doesn’t look quite right may be worth checking out.

And that doesn’t mean the tree has to come down. Sometimes it needs attention. Sometimes it just needs watching. And sometimes, it’s perfectly fine right where it is.

Not sure what you’re looking at? That’s what we’re here for. 🫡

Around here, fall is pretty much summer with a different name.

We’re changing what it means to call a tree company. 🌳

Sometimes you need a quote for a tree or a limb. But sometimes what you really need is someone to look at the whole property and tell you what you should actually be thinking about.

What’s healthy? What needs attention? What can wait? What should we monitor? And what might you want to plan and budget for five or ten years from now?

📊 One way we’re doing that is through Canopy, developed in-house by one of our owners, Will Semple.

Canopy gives our ISA Certified Arborists a way to assess, map and document trees across an entire property — and turn that information into an actual plan instead of just a list of things to cut.

We think that’s a much more useful conversation to have with our customers.

Not every tree needs work. But every property benefits from understanding what it has.

Work in progress. 🌳🪚

Before the first cut, there’s work to be done. Equipment checks, saws fueled, bucket truck tested, and safety protocols in place.

A good job starts long before the saw hits the tree.

Healthy trees start below the surface. 🌳🌱

Roots are a critical part of how a tree takes up water and nutrients, but they also play a major role in the stability of the trunk and the tree as a whole. When roots are damaged by soil compaction, poor drainage, construction, or changes around the root zone, the effects may not be obvious above ground right away.

Pruning can help reduce structural risk, but pruning alone doesn’t necessarily make a tree healthier. Long-term tree health means looking at the entire tree—from the roots and soil to the trunk and canopy.

With ISA Certified Arborists on staff, we take the time to assess the whole picture. We’ll talk with you about what to keep an eye on, what may need attention, and what you can plan for in the years ahead.

Because good tree care isn’t just bucket trucks and chainsaws. It’s knowing your trees, understanding what they need, and caring for your property like we would our own.

Have questions about the trees on your property? Give us a call to schedule an arborist assessment. 🌳

The storm passed. Now look up. 🌳⛈️

After a night of heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds along the Gulf Coast, it’s worth taking a few minutes to check the trees around your property.

Keep an eye out for hanging or broken limbs, fresh cracks or splits, exposed roots, or trees that seem to be leaning more than they were before. Storm damage isn’t always obvious from the ground, and weakened limbs can become a problem long after the weather clears.

If something doesn’t look right, don’t take the chance. Give us a call — we’re always happy to come take a look and provide a free estimate.

Fun Fact, Mobile: 🌳 We’ve got locals older than Alabama itself—and they’ve never left town.

The Duffie Oak is estimated to be more than 300 years old. That means this Mobile legend was putting down roots before Alabama even became a state in 1819.

It’s weathered hurricanes, wars, countless Mardi Gras seasons, and more Gulf Coast summers than anyone can count.

So next time you’re under one of Mobile’s giant live oaks, give it a little respect. Around here, the trees have stories too. 🌿
