I highly recommend HandyMensch Home Remodeling. Lenny, Chad, Sean, Brette and the entire team. After a very difficult experience with a previous deck contractor, finding a company I could trust to build a beautiful, well-constructed deck was extremely important to me, and this team exceeded my expectations.

Chad was my primary point of contact from the beginning and was instrumental in helping me work through all of the details, including the design, size, decking product, and colors. He was patient, knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely committed to making sure we got everything right.

Lenny, as the owner, was also personally engaged throughout the project and made a point of checking in to make sure everything was going well. Sean (Project Lead) and Brette (Client Experience Manager) were equally professional. Additionally, Sean was responsive and engaged as the project moved through production and completion.

The entire team communicated well, paid close attention to the details, and took pride in the finished product. The completed deck is beautiful, extremely well-built, and exactly what I hoped for.

After everything I went through with my previous deck, I couldn't be happier with my decision to work with this team. An update on one of our latest deck projects!

Our clients came to us with an existing deck that had been built by a previous contractor. While the project had originally been permitted, the required inspections were never completed, and the deck was not built to code. Fairfax County documented several code violations, and after reviewing the issues, we determined the deck could not be reasonably repaired.

Our team designed a new deck that met the client’s goals while working through some unique challenges, including a bump-out from the house and modifying the existing stone walkway so the new staircase would land properly.

The project is now in the home stretch and will be heading toward final county inspection shortly. We’re excited to complete this transformation and provide our clients with a safe, functional outdoor space they can enjoy for years to come!

Our structural repair project in Reston is almost done. We have passed final inspection. The only remaining work is to walk the project with the client and complete the final punch out. Some pictures showing the main level with the new beam and the basement where we installed the new post and footers. The client will be handling the flooring and final painting at their request.

What started as a kitchen remodel quickly uncovered major structural, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues hidden behind the walls from previous improper work. Our team developed a corrective plan, brought in a structural engineer, passed inspections, and rebuilt the space the right way. This project is a perfect example of why experience matters in remodeling.
