Post-demo slab to finished retail floor. The third photo shows the change mid-job, polished on one side and untouched on the other.

On a build-out the floor lands after demolition and before fixtures, so it has to hit its window. General contractors and project managers: bring us in early and we'll help scope the slab condition and fit polishing into your sequence. roserestoration.com/contractor/

Mold that keeps coming back in a stone shower usually isn't on the stone. It lives in failed grout and caulk. Bleach and vinegar damage natural stone, so skip them. The lasting fix is regrouting the wet joints and refinishing the stone. More in our guide: roserestoration.com/blog/removing-mold-and-mildew/

What is terrazzo? Chips of marble, glass or stone set in a binder, then ground flat and polished. The thin metal lines are divider strips, which help control cracking and set out the pattern.

Because the chips run through the depth of the floor, worn terrazzo can usually be ground and polished back instead of replaced.

If your terrazzo looks tired, get it assessed before anyone talks about replacement: roserestoration.com/terrazzo/

A hotel restaurant floor gets hard use and very little downtime. This small marble mosaic had dulled and darkened, with soil worked into its texture. We protected the wood floor and edges beside it, cleaned and restored the mosaic, and it came back bright.

The photos show an untouched section and a finished section of the same floor.

For hotel engineering and operations teams, we plan the work around service hours: roserestoration.com/hospitality/

Checkerboard aisles and mosaic borders in a church, restored by our crew. Terrazzo and stone in houses of worship see weddings, funerals and every Sunday in between, so we schedule work around services. Church and facility teams: roserestoration.com/church-stone-restoration/

Dull rings on marble usually aren't stains. They're etching: acidic drinks and cleaners dissolve a thin layer of the polished surface and leave a matte mark.

The fix is mechanical, not a cleaner. We protect everything around the piece, take the damaged layer off, then polish back up to a reflective finish. Same stone, no replacement. Second photo is mid-process under plastic; third is the finished top.

Send us a photo and we'll tell you whether yours can be restored: roserestoration.com/marble/

Slate floor in Alexandria, before and after. Slate hides wear well until it doesn't: dull patches and dirty grout lines build up slowly. This is the same floor on the same job. Wondering what yours could look like? Send us a photo: roserestoration.com/slate-flagstone-restoration/

Same room, same slab: raw concrete with the grinders staged, then the finished floor reflecting the ceiling lights.

The gloss on polished concrete comes mostly from the slab itself. It is ground flat and refined in stages until the surface reflects, rather than relying on a thick coating that wears through. For open commercial space, that means a hard-wearing floor that is simple to keep clean.
