TDM’s Sarah Jones has been connected to water wells long before her professional career began. She grew up in the historic town of Rescue, CA just outside Placerville—the heart of the 1849 Gold Rush. Her childhood backyard was scattered with relics from the past, and she spent countless hours exploring the land and collecting old artifacts. During one of those adventures, she accidentally fell into an open, abandoned well.
That incident became part of a larger movement in Northern California in the mid‑1990s, when agencies began identifying and properly abandoning old wells to prevent similar accidents.
Nearly 30 years later, Sarah’s story has come full circle. She is now an active member of the Alaska Water Well Association and plays a key role in a company that provides water wells, interceptor wells, gold recovery wells, dewatering services, and more. What began as a childhood encounter with an abandoned well has grown into a lifelong commitment to safe, responsible, and innovative drilling practices.
