Self-performed civil, concrete & carpentry. Full-service general contractor

We believe great projects start with great partnerships. For us, every job is an opportunity to build better, together. Tiger Construction has proudly built Whatcom County’s public spaces, and industrial facilities with the craftsmanship our community depends on. Founded in 1974, we’re one of the region’s longest-standing local general contractors, known for delivering projects on time, on budget, and with the personal care that keeps clients coming back. From educational institutions to healthcare facilities to public infrastructure development, Tiger Construction is the region’s leading general contractor self-performing civil work, concrete, and carpentry to maintain a superior level of project oversight. This means tighter schedules, consistent quality, and a single trusted team from start to finish. At Tiger, people come first. We work with exceptional people who do exceptional things. Valuing open communication, practical solutions, and relationships built on trust, our crews take pride in their work because they know it shapes the communities where we live and raise our families.

✨Building strong communities starts with showing up for one another.✨

Tiger Construction is proud to sponsor 'Be The One' in support of local youth mentoring. By connecting students with caring adults for one hour each week at school, Be The One creates opportunities for encouragement, connection, and confidence.

Our commitment to this community extends beyond the projects we build. We're grateful to support the people and programs investing in its future and helping young people feel seen, supported, and valued.

A full month of school is officially in the books at Crescent Harbor Elementary School! 📚

After years of planning, building, and collaboration, there’s something pretty special about seeing this school doing exactly what it was built to do. Classrooms are full, students are settling in, and a new school year is well underway.

We’re proud to have played a part in creating a space that will serve this community for years to come.

Here’s to a great year, Crescent Harbor! 🍎📓

Crescent Harbor Elementary School includes several design elements that represent the Naval community and our corner of the Pacific Northwest. ⚓🧭

One of the most distinctive is this 55-foot concrete water tower. Its artwork features an interpretation of a navigational chart, referencing tools used by modern sailors, while the tower crown honors the pilots who fly overhead each day.

The navigation theme also shows up in a decorative concrete compass rose in the picnic area. Other details throughout the school include a painted orca in the play area and concrete monuments depicting a sailboat, train, and jet.

Each detail was incorporated to give students and families a school that feels connected to their community.

Sustainability is a defining feature of Crescent Harbor Elementary School. 🏫

Designed as a net-positive energy school, the facility brings together a 376-kilowatt photovoltaic solar array, geothermal ground-source heat pumps, a high-performance building envelope, daylighting strategies, and stormwater bioretention features.

Together, these systems reduce energy consumption and support long-term operational efficiency, while the high-performance building envelope contributes to indoor comfort and acoustic performance.

The sustainable features throughout the facility also create opportunities for environmental education, making the building itself part of the learning environment.

It’s a thoughtful approach to school construction, resulting in a facility designed to operate efficiently, support a comfortable learning environment, and serve the Crescent Harbor community well for generations to come.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of longtime Tiger Construction Superintendent Jim Swansen, who suffered a heart attack while hiking with his Fly Fishing Club.

Jim was a valued member of the Tiger Construction family and left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working with him. The knowledge, guidance, and mentorship he shared helped shape many of our current leaders and will remain an important part of his legacy.

Jim will be deeply missed, and our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who knew him.

The new Crescent Harbor Elementary School is ready for students, but the work on site continues! 🚧

is completing asphalt work, while Tiger Civil begins demolition of the old school over the next month.

Once the old school is removed, the space will make way for a new synthetic turf field.

There’s more work ahead and we’re looking forward to sharing the progress.

At Tiger Construction, we're all about protecting what matters... even if it's just a Fireball. 🔥🏌️

We are proud to sponsor the Fireball Challenge at this year's AGC Golf Tournament! The goal? Keep your Fireball with you all day. Lose it, and... well... that's on you. 😄

Thanks to everyone who played along and helped make it another great day on the course. Here's to building relationships both on the jobsite and on the fairway.
