ISO Pool Service Technician
Candidate will be responsible for performing routine pool cleanings, adding necessary chemicals, and small equipment repair and replacement to clients in Monroeville and Evergreen.
Requirements - must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs buckets and bags of pool chemicals. Must be able to squat, kneel, push/pull cart containing pool cleaning equipment, read/interpret test strips that require color readings. Must have clean driving record and willing to install an app on your personal phone to perform job duties. Job duties require someone who is able to work independently. ‼️⚠️Freeze risk for pool plumbing tonight‼️⚠️

For all of my pool customers, you should be set. But here is the information you need to know. Our saving grace will be daytime temperatures that get above freezing. However, at night, be sure that your pool pump is running. As long as your water is circulating, the risk for freezing pipes will be greatly reduced. If you have a Hayward smart (salt) system, your pool pump will automatically be turned on when air temps reach 32 degrees or below. If you do not have a system like this, you need to make sure your system is turned on and running all night.

Decided to do a little research on an antique pool this week. I visited the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC and saw this indoor pool, built about 1891. It holds 70,000 gallons of water. The rope loops on the left hand side were used by swimmers to hang on to, just to chill out in the water. They could also sit in them. The diving platform gives you an idea where the water level would be. The chrome plated brass fill tube and valve is how the pool is filled with water. They have blocks of limestone for steps to walk into the pool in the shallow end. The doorway to the left above the pool leads to elaborate private dressing rooms for the guests, as it was inappropriate for men or women to walk through the house dressed in swim attire.

We have things to aspire to! Who wants to have a pool like this? Maybe I can find someone to build it for you. 🤣 just kidding

Hello all! If you are a customer of ours, you should have heard from me over the past couple of days to let you know what we’ve done to your pool to prepare for the upcoming freeze over the Christmas weekend. If you are not a customer of mine, but may be wondering what you need to do to prevent your pipes from freezing - make sure your pool pump is running around the clock, beginning on Thursday 12/22 and running through next Tuesday 12/27. Having several days in a row where the air temperatures do not get above freezing is the perfect recipe for frozen, busted pipes. Run your pump 24/7! If you have a Polaris, the water is already flowing through those pipes as well. There is no need to run your booster pump. If you have a water feature, make sure it is also running. Any water in a pipe that doesn’t flow can freeze, and expand, and therefore bust any pipes that are above ground.
