🏆 We’re proud to share that GreenWise has received the Landscape Illinois Residential Construction $50k and Up Merit Award for this front yard transformation.
What began as a property with deteriorating walls, failing asphalt, and overgrown plantings was reimagined into a welcoming, functional entry that complements the home’s mid-century architecture. Our team redesigned the space with terraced retaining walls that open up the approach and create a comfortable landing at the base of the steps. Bluestone walkways and steps, paired with custom railings, guide visitors to both the front and side entrances.
We also replaced the original asphalt with a permeable paver driveway designed to manage runoff while creating room for new planting beds without sacrificing maneuverability. Thoughtfully selected plants now provide seasonal color and support pollinators, and the original moss-covered accent stones were incorporated back into the design to preserve a piece of the site’s history.
