I was adding this video to my architectural website and rewatched part of it that inspired me to share it in these troubling times with the poor ethics on display in so many places. A good reminder as we start 2026 on the price being paid in our culture when people are not connected to the "spiritual" dimension of life. I found such simple clarity on my little rant here starting at 11:30 in on this video. Hope it inspires you and that we can inspire others to be aware of the light. Happy New Year friends!

What a nice surprise to end the year. Our Lakeside Net Zero Passive House Project is featured on pages 42-43 in this past month's issue of Green Home Builder Magazine. The home received the 2025 Custom Home of the Year in the Under 3,000 Sq. Ft. catagory. Congratulations to our client to have the intention to create such an energy efficiency and healthy home with us and kudos to our outstanding builder, Paul Abueva with Abueva Builders. All-Star Team on this one!

Congratulations to my client and our team who designed and built the Indiana Dunes Net Zero High Performance House Project in Beverly Shores, IN. Just received the final Home Energy Rating System rating of 8! Also received the following certifications:
• US DOE Zero Energy Ready Home Program
• Energy Star for Homes v3.1
• EPA Indoor Air Plus

The home is built to passive house standards with superior comfort, resiliency and energy efficiency but the client decided not to officially certify the home. It's on it's way to becoming net zero with it's 7.8kw solar array just installed. A few more panels in the future will get it all the way.

Wanted to share that our Lakeside Net Zero Passive House is on this years American Solar Energy Society's National Solar Tour! You can take a virtual tour if it now via a video on this page, a webinar with myself and our builder Paul Abueva. There should be an open house in early october where you can walk through the home. I'll post about that as it becomes available. Please share.

The Miller Beach Cute Cabin Project is under way in Indiana. Road extension cleared; excavation, footings, foundation walls and insulation in place. Underground utilities and framing next.

Down the road the Indiana Dunes Net Zero Passive House is now occupied by it's owner and the reports are that the home is incredibly comfortable and very connected to nature when inside.

A great use for the Love Notes Time Capsule app: saving precious audio. I remember after my step father passed, when I would call my mom and she wasn't home, I would get to hear his voice still on their answering machine (remember those things). Instantly I would be connected with his spirit just hearing his voice, which felt really good. Months later I called, and found that someone had erased that message! What a shame I didn't have a copy of that to continue to hear his voice.

Use the Love Notes app to record a voice you want to hear in the future by using the Audio Love Note button, and record that precious voicemail message now, to preserve it for yourself and your kids.
