Happy Earth Day Everybody! 💚🌎💚

This past weekend I began my ecological stewardship volunteer program with the Cook County Forest Preserve! It was such a wonderful, peaceful, productive day of yanking invasive garlic mustard and picking up litter in Oxbow Prairie, I’m looking forward to my monthly immersion in the forest.

If this sounds up your alley, there are SO many volunteer opportunities, just visit the Forest Preserves of Cook County website.

Super thankful to my painting pal Gene, owner of for the use of his spray booth!

If you aren’t familiar with his work, definitely check it out. He’s done some of my favorite murals at tasty locales throughout the city and more.

Working on fun stuff! Getting to care for vintage homes throughout Chicago and the North Shore is an absolute joy and privilege. I have a neat job. Removing several layers of paint on a staircase to let the original old growth wood be a thing of beauty once again.
