A Quick Thought From the Field
One thing that has become increasingly frustrating in our industry is seeing electrical work specified, installed, and even approved using materials that don't meet the requirements of the application.
A common example is seeing a 60-amp circuit quoted or installed using 6 AWG NM cable without proper consideration of the conductor ampacity limitations required by the NEC. It's something we continue to encounter on estimates, job sites, and unfortunately even after inspections have been completed.
This isn't about criticizing other contractors or inspectors. It's a reminder that not all electrical estimates are created equal.
When comparing proposals, the lowest price doesn't always mean the same scope of work, the same materials, or the same level of code compliance. In many cases, cutting corners on conductor sizing, equipment ratings, grounding, bonding, or installation methods can significantly reduce the cost of a project on paper.
At Atoms Electrical Co., we believe our customers deserve more than a low number. We believe they deserve an installation designed and built to current code requirements, industry best practices, and long-term reliability.
Electrical systems should be evaluated based on safety, performance, and complianc; not simply price.
That's why we take the time to perform proper load calculations, review manufacturer requirements, verify conductor ampacities, and ensure installations are completed correctly the first time.

When reviewing estimates, don't be afraid to ask questions. A reputable contractor should be able to explain exactly what materials are being used and why.
