Ami Campbell Art

Ami Campbell Art Contemporary Impressionist Campbell lives and works in Oakland, California, with her partner and fellow artist, Elaine Leon.

Amanda Campbell is known for her dream-like compositions that combine colorful mark-making and creative patterning, with an organic application of movement. Her playful choice of pallet allow the eyes of the viewer to freely dance around the paper, engaging the imaginary, landscape design of her abstractions. Campbell places depth into the texture of her paper, creating unexpected marks with her p

allet knives, digging and slicing into paper with the use of her process-driven practice. She creates most of her work through the curation of pallets from photographs she takes during her travels up and down the California Coast. Her audience often finds familiarity within the piece because although abstracted, Campbell’s work re-imagines local places through emotion, rather than through visual replication. She received her BFA in San Francisco, CA at San Francisco State University. Campbell’s work has been collected across the USA, and parts of Europe.
