Autumn, Mariko, Rich, Isaac, and few of our clients and friends had the pleasure of attending the International Day of the Girl Brunch hosted by Ophelia's Place. Castile Kitchen & Bath was proud to sponsor a table and spend the morning celebrating an organization doing such meaningful work in our community.

Ophelia’s Place is an organization we’re proud to support year-round. Their work helping girls build confidence, find their voices, and recognize their potential is something we deeply believe in.

As a company in the remodeling and construction industry, we know firsthand how important it is for women to see what’s possible when they’re encouraged to dream big, step into new opportunities, and challenge expectations. We believe women belong in every room, on every job site, and in every leadership role they aspire to. That confidence starts long before a career begins.

We enjoyed a gorgeous breakfast, wonderful company, and the opportunity to connect with fellow community supporters, including familiar faces from Autumn’s Hall of Fame BNI group! Autumn also received a few special shout-outs for her continuous support of OP as the representative of Castile.

A special thank you to Ana Babauta and everyone at Ophelia’s Place for the work you do to help girls see their potential and imagine a future without limits. We’re honored to support your mission and the next generation of women who will shape our community.

One kitchen. Three bathrooms. One beautifully transformed home.

We’re incredibly grateful for this five-star review and for the trust our clients placed in Castile to reimagine so much of their home.

Projects of this scale are deeply personal and we’re honored to have been part of it from the first conversation to the final detail.

Thank you for trusting Castile to transform the way you live.

We’ll be back in the office and ready to roll first thing Wednesday morning.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about your remodel, please reach out to Rich, Forrest, or Autumn directly. We’re still here to keep your project moving!

What impacts your remodeling budget?

When planning a remodel, the question isn't just "how much will it cost?". It's What am I investing in, and what will it take to create the space I actually want?"

Here are the top 5 things that impact your investment:

1. How much you're changing.

A simple refresh is very different than completely reworking a layout, moving plumbing, upgrading electrical, or removing walls.

2. Your material selections.

Cabinetry, countertops, tile, appliances, fixtures, and hardware all offer different levels of investment. The key is knowing where to invest and where to make thoughtful compromises.

3. What's behind the walls.

Electrical, plumbing, structural work, water damage, and other conditions in an older home can significantly affect the work required.

4. The complexity of the design.

Custom details, specialty materials, unique layouts, and personalized features require more design, planning, and craftsmanship.

5. The quality of work and your experience.

Your investment isn't just in the finished materials. It's also in the people designing, managing, and building your project- and the quality of work behind the finished space.

The bottom line:

The lowest proposal isn't always the best investment.

And the highest proposal isn't automatically the best either.

The right contractor should give you confidence in where your investment is going, who is handling your home and what you're going to get in return.

Because when your home and your investment are on the line, trust isn't a bonus. It's essential.

AI is changing every industry, including remodeling. While there are some exciting possibilities, there's also a downside that's becoming impossible to ignore.

Lately we've been seeing AI-generated advertisements circulating throughout Lane County promising complete kitchen remodels for as little as $9,000.00 - $11,000.00. While those numbers may grab attention, they don't reflect the reality of what a true, professionally managed kitchen remodel costs.

As a local design-build company, we believe homeowners deserve honest information so they can make informed decisions. A quality remodel includes much more than cabinets and countertops. It involves thoughtful design, permits, skilled tradespeople, project management, quality materials, warranty coverage, and craftsmanship built to last.

The real cost of misleading advertising isn't just disappointment. Homeowners can end up frustrated or believing that every remodeling company is overpriced when they receive real estimates. In the worst cases, families are left with torn-apart kitchens, unfinished projects, unexpected debt, and the difficult task of finding someone else to fix or complete the work.

Advancements in technology should never replace honesty.
If an ad sounds too good to be true, it's worth asking a few questions:

• What exactly is included?
• Are labor, permits, plumbing, electrical, and finishes part of that price?
• Is it a cosmetic refresh or a complete remodel?
• Will there be change orders later to make up the difference?

At Castile Kitchen & Bath, we give you realistic expectations from the beginning. Our goal has always been the same: to serve you. We believe in client education, designing with purpose, and building spaces that improve the way you live in your home.

Homeowners deserve transparency, not clickbait.

Whether we are the fit for you or can serve as a resource along the way, give us a call at 541.554.6974 and as the AI ads say, "save yourself the headache".
