Bottle opener mallets 2.0. (Not finished yet) stronger magnet hid under a maple disc….tried a couple live edge tops on a few and they turned out pretty bad a$$!! I mean they turned out BAD A$$!!!! Pictures do not do them justice! Shoot! It’s been a busy summer!! LOTS of “honey Do’s” and such. Lots of work and swimming. It’s been hot!! Head is going crazy with ideas but the workbench has been idle for awhile. Still here tho!!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms in my life!!! It was good to be surrounded by family, get out in the Sunshine and get some planting done!! LOTS of planting!! Throw in an impromptu “mini” trellis or two and raised “herb” garden all out of stuff I had in the shed!! Great weekend indeed!!! ❤️❤️

Soooooo….Making a lot repetitive cuts yesterday and on the last one this happened!! Right under my right armpit!! Quite a kickback and flying wood on a piece of Black Walnut!! Shut the saw off and caught my breath AND then I noticed who was standing directly behind me!!!!! My Mother!!!!! Shoot!! At 56 years old you bet I got a talking to!! Here’s to your parents living next door and you leaving the back door open! Every excuse I used she shut me down!! Dam, not sure what hurts most! My armpit or that my Mother saw that!! At least that wound is square at 90 degrees! 😳

Take big boards and cut em up! Spent the weekend making some “summer project stock” and made some flags. Another bucket list item with the 🇺🇸!! Something I have wanted to do for a long time. AND they are turning out pretty SWEET! I am going to do 3 footers and a smaller 2 footers(shown). Can’t wait to see them done!!!

Been busy doing other stuff this year. Have to stuff!! It was fun tho!! Kids got a new house so lots to do there. Paint, new doors X3. You know. Just stuff. I had a chance to make some chopping blocks outta some sweet Black Locust I got in the mean time!! Lots of cutting and milling but they turned out pretty Bad A$$!! Made 3 and they are all spoken for(One is going to Oklahoma, one was for my Bro in Law and I am keeping the other) but I am getting my hands on two more big chunks of this gorgeous Black Locust so if anyone is interested in one of these 10 pounders PM me. I also have a couple that I am making outta White Oak like the ones I made 1st. Work in progress on those but they are looking pretty sweet!! Anyways….I am back at it. 😳

So my “neighbor” came over with a box of chocolates. She sat them on my workbench as we ate a few and talked. She left and I continued to work on getting these boards lined up to get glued. As I put them together I noticed a good size gap!! What the HE double hockey sticks!! Oh, some chocolate left over!! 🙄
