What happens when a main line freezes to a backflow preventer? Well, this one blew the solder joint right off of a flanged connection and cracked a 2” copper line. So, we shut the water off in an underground vault up to old valve (couldn’t believe they both held 100% tight!). Then, we replace the main gate valve that was the original valve, test the water back to it, and rebuild from there! Learned a lot from the old-fashioned guys but also implemented some sweet pressing technology! Job never gets boring!
