Hello,
I hope all are doing well, as you know Our State has closed many businesses down due to the out-break of the Corona Virus, at first glance I would have never considered Lawn Care to be in violation of this order that was just extended by the Governors office until May 1st as I am within the guidelines of the Social Distancing Measure put into place and have no contact with my clients, I come and go, how ever they have implemented a list of Businesses that would be in Violation of the order as pasted below, within this violation the penalty's are $1000.00 Dollar Fine, Loss of Business Licensing and possible jail time.
Q: May landscaping, lawn-care, tree service, irrigation, and related outdoor maintenance companies operate under this order?
A: No, except if the service is necessary to maintain and improve the safety, sanitation, and essential operations of a residence. Therefore, cosmetic and non-emergency maintenance and improvements to the outdoor areas of residences and businesses are not permissible under this order.
I am trying to address this issue with the Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and the Governors office at the present time and will keep you abreast of the out-come, if you have any question Please feel free to contact me, I am in hopes there are no further extensions of this order and I can resume business as usual.
I can be contacted by either my home and cellular listed above or by E-mail at [email protected], please put Lawn care in the subject line for recognition as I do receive many unrecognized Emails and delete them
I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, how ever I have no control over the current circumstances in which we are facing, I am presently looking over all of my accounts and will pro-rate my seasonal contracts with a reimbursement of UN-rendered services, I will also be forgiving any extra charges for lawns that are over-grown as it is unavoidable by the current order of the Governors Office.
Respectfully
