Customer has a home here in Connecticut and Florida. Their Connecticut home was being renovated and they asked us to install two Mitsubishi Cassettes in their ceiling instead of wall hung heads. Because of new construction and sheet rock was all down. Our company made their wishes come true! One 18,000 BTU unit for the main living room and one 12,000 btu unit in their bedroom. The existing split unit, over 20 years old, required replacement. We installed a new Cooper and Hunter 24k btu unit, positioning the indoor head higher to increase airflow in the upstairs office while maintaining cooling for the first floor area. This upgrade also allows the new head to provide heat. A single click of the remote can switch between heating and cooling modes. Customer will repaint and patch existing holes. Despite being connected to the existing central air and boiler, the space has consistently struggled with inadequate heating and cooling. We proposed an alternative solution by installing a split system, avoiding the need for costly duct work that may not have resolved the issue. Customer had a very old a/c r22 unit that had failed in the first floor. Called us to come and replace with the new r454b hydrocoil and new outdoor condenser. Upon inspection, we discovered a non-repairable hole in the outdoor condenser unit, further complicated by the system's discontinued status. We presented the client with alternative solutions, and they opted to install a hyper heat Mitsubishi system, comprising one head in the new addition area for primary heating and another in the basement for the kids' hangout area.
