October is Careers in Construction Month, and we’re continuing to recognize the people who make a difference at Carter Lumber every day.

Meet Breanne, Kitchen Sales Coordinator at our Erie location. Breanne has been part of the Carter team for nearly seven years and was nominated by Vince for her ability to take on whatever comes her way and find a way to succeed.

Throughout her time with Carter, Breanne has shown that she can adapt to new challenges while remaining focused and dependable.

As Vince shared, “Anyone who has had the pleasure of working with or alongside her knows she is one of one.”

Thank you, Breanne, for your hard work, dedication and for being someone your teammates are proud to recognize!

Warm walnut meets a bright, modern design.

Natural walnut cabinetry brings warmth and character to this new home, creating contrast against the crisp white finishes throughout the kitchen. The same cabinetry carries into the primary bath, powder room and drop zone, creating a connected look from room to room.

And there’s plenty of function built in, too. Thoughtful storage includes deep drawers, tray dividers, a hidden paper towel holder and dedicated drop-zone storage for everything from everyday essentials to cleaning supplies.

In the billiard room, dark cabinetry adds a different look while still fitting naturally with the home’s midcentury modern style.

A great example of how cabinetry can bring both function and continuity to an entire home.

Who says your kitchen cabinets have to be one color?

Mixing finishes can add depth, define different areas of the kitchen and make the entire space feel more intentional.

For this 1960s split-level remodel, three KraftMaid finishes work together throughout the space. Vanilla Smoke keeps the upper cabinetry light, Harbor adds contrast along the base cabinets, and Cherry Husk brings warmth to the furniture-inspired accents.

The mix of finishes helps each area stand out while still feeling like part of one cohesive kitchen.

And there’s plenty of function behind the design, with appliance garages, dedicated storage, a hutch-style pantry and a built-in window bench helping make the most of the newly expanded space.

Would you mix cabinet colors in your kitchen?

Designed for a busy family, with plenty of room to gather.

This kitchen was created for a builder’s personal home with a goal of combining clean, timeless design with the warmth and character of its working farm setting.

Shiloh cabinetry in a Thyme stain brings a natural green tone into the space, while generous counter space and a large island give the family plenty of room for everyday meals, gathering and baking.

Function was just as important as the look. Storage on all four sides of the island, plenty of drawers and rollouts, and a dedicated baking area help make the kitchen work for a large family. The adjoining pantry adds even more organized storage for everything from baking supplies to grab-and-go sports snacks.

A kitchen designed around how this family really lives.

Originally scheduled to be torn down, this home was instead given new life with a complete transformation.

The kitchen features KraftMaid Vantage Lyndale Rustic Maple cabinetry in Wicker, paired with a contrasting island and black statement range hood. A walk-through pantry provides additional storage, while coordinating cabinetry continues throughout the home.

The island does more than add seating.

It can be one of the hardest-working spaces in your kitchen. Extra prep space, added storage, a place to gather, and room for everyday meals can all come together in one thoughtful design.

And with the right layout, an island can incorporate even more functionality, from appliances and deep drawers to trash pullouts and storage designed around the way you use your kitchen.

At Carter Kitchen & Bath, we’ll help you make every inch count.

Can we be honest for a second? 😊

Your home isn't just where you sleep and eat — it's where your actual life happens. The coffee you make before anyone else is awake. The Sunday dinners that turn into three hours because nobody wants to get up from the table.

That's why we love what we do at Carter Kitchen and Bath. Sure, a beautiful kitchen or bath adds value to your home — but more than that, it adds value to your life. We've watched so many clients walk into their finished space and just... exhale. Like the house finally feels like home again.

If you've been dreaming about that project but keep putting it off, we get it — it's a big step. But we'd love to just chat about it, no pressure at all.

What's been on your wishlist? 💬

Your kitchen is where life happens—morning coffee, family dinners, holiday traditions, and everything in between.

That’s why choosing a surface that can keep up matters. Cambria Quartz offers lasting beauty, incredible strength, and low maintenance, making it a smart investment for the heart of your home.

Hidden Gems

Some of our favorite projects aren't the big, obvious renovations — they're the little spaces most people forget to design on purpose. ☕✨

A coffee bar tucked into an unused corner. A walk-in pantry with pull-out shelves so nothing gets lost in the back. A butler's pantry that hides the mess before guests ever see it. A built-in dog bowl station, a charging drawer, a wrapping station in the laundry room — the spaces that don't show up on a floor plan but make daily life so much easier.

At Carter Kitchen and Bath, we believe the best designs aren't just about the kitchen island or the master bath — they're about every corner of your home working as hard as you do. 🏡
What's one space in your home you wish was designed better? A pantry that drives you crazy? A closet that needs a real plan? Tell us below — we love a good design puzzle. 👇

What's Hot in 2026

2026 is shifting away from cold, all-white kitchens and into something warmer and more personal. 🌿 Here's what we're loving right now at Carter Kitchen and Bath:
🔹 Two-tone cabinets — a darker, richer tone on the lower cabinets with lighter uppers

🔹 Natural wood and stone that age beautifully instead of high-gloss finishes that show every fingerprint

🔹 Bigger islands doing double duty — prep space, casual dining, even built-in appliances

🔹 Walk-in pantries and butler's pantries to keep the mess out of sight

🔹 Spa-style bathrooms with rounded sinks, layered lighting, and curbless showers
Which one of these would make the biggest difference in your home? Drop a comment — we'd love to talk through how it could work in your space. 👇

💡 Did you know? 5 things to consider before starting your kitchen remodel:

1️⃣ Layout first — The work triangle (sink, stove, fridge) affects how functional your kitchen feels every single day.

2️⃣ Storage over square footage — Smart cabinet design can make a small kitchen feel twice as big.

3️⃣ Lighting is everything — Layer your lighting! Overhead, under-cabinet, and pendant lights each serve a different purpose.

4️⃣ Don't forget the hardware — Cabinet pulls and k***s are like jewelry for your kitchen. Small change, big impact.

5️⃣ Work with a pro — A trusted contractor and a great showroom (hi, that's us 👋) can save you time, money, and a lot of headaches.

Thinking about a remodel? Come see us — we'd love to help you plan it out!
