This was the first Load of sod cut 30 years ago from our farm in Erda! I believe this went to our friends DarinTeresa Harris. 30 years later, it still looks beautiful! We started out using a slab cutter but soon went to a roll cutter. We still use rolls to this day! With rolls you can get more square footage per piece, they're easier to carry and lay out, and you can fit more per pallet. With a lack of airflow, The flat slabs tend to start heating up in the middle of the pallet in hot weather. When that happens, each peice of sod would have a half circle burned into it. Over the last three decades, we're constantly looking to improve everything we do!
