When we say Wesley holds the Elite Diamond Technician certification from Mitsubishi, it's worth explaining what that actually means.

An authorized dealer or Elite Diamond Contractor status is a business-level relationship — the company is recognized by Mitsubishi. That's what Custom Climates holds at the company level.

The Elite Diamond Technician certification is something different. It's a technician-level credential that requires passing technical exams specific to Mitsubishi equipment. It lives with the technician, not the business. Fewer than a handful of NH companies have a tech who holds it.

That distinction shows up in the precision of every Mitsubishi install Wesley touches.

One of the most common things we hear before a heat pump estimate in Southern New Hampshire: "but won't it fail in January?"

It's a fair concern — older heat pump technology did struggle in cold climates. The current generation of cold-climate units is a fundamentally different product.

Mitsubishi's H2i+ units deliver 100% heating performance at -10°F and continue operating to -22°F. The average January low in Concord is around 12°F. The equipment handles it — that's what it was designed for.

We've been installing Mitsubishi systems in Southern NH for 18 years. The winters here don't surprise these units.

Before running your AC for the first time this season, there's one thing worth checking that most homeowners skip: the air filter.

Indoor air can be 2 to 5 times more polluted than outdoor air, according to the American Lung Association. Your HVAC filter is one of the main factors in whether that number goes up or down in your home.

A filter that hasn't been changed since last fall is working against you. It reduces airflow, forces the system to work harder, and recirculates contaminants back through the return rather than capturing them. Most manufacturers recommend replacement every 1 to 3 months during peak use.

The fix takes two minutes. Worth doing before you need the system to work.

We finished a three-zone Mitsubishi mini-split install in Manchester last week.
