Full Job Description:
Seeking organized and motived Class A CDL Dump Truck Driver. Work will include haul and deliver aggregate material using both, Single, Truck & Pup and Side Dump set-up, as well as perform job site duties when hauling is not required.
Responsibilities:
o Operate dump trucks, 8 axle - tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver (dump &/or spread) aggregate — maneuvering trucks into loading and unloading positions safely.
o Communicate well with contracting partner representatives, dispatcher, loaders, scale staff, site leads, and co-workers, maintaining professional decorum.
o Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical equipment is in good working order — preform pre-trip and post-trip inspection — identify and detect the cause of mechanical defects.
o Keep the assigned vehicle well maintained, cleaned, and thoroughly sanitized. Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid.
o Follow the rules of the road and safety procedures for transporting goods — inspect loads and surroundings to ensure safety of people and properties.
o Maneuver and navigate equipment safely. Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting, or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating wheel locks.
o Maintain written work-logs pertaining to load and dump times, pit sites, and job sites — obtaining receipts &/or signatures for transports. Submit paperwork end-of-shift(s).
o Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles — complete vehicle inspection reports, incident reports, and other reports as required.
o May assist members of the work force in other areas of production, including shoveling/raking materials on grade, driving water truck.
Requirements:
• Class A CDL License Required (2 years Preferred)
• Must have Clean Driving Record, copy supplied prior to hire • Current DOT Medical Card
• Drug Free and able to pass DOT required drug testing
• Dump Truck Driving: 1 Year (Preferred)
