Be Wise - Scan Before You Cut or Core. Concrete Scanning and Imaging, Inc. is a full-service subcontracted concrete scanning and imaging company using only the latest in ground penetrating radar technology to investigate your jobsite to find reinforcement, conduit, and exclusion zones. Ground penetrating radar is an accepted and routinely used nondestructive method for imaging objects in concrete

prior to cutting or coring. It is a safe application of radar regulated by the FCC and fieldwork typically requires only one operator. Imaging results are generated on-site for immediate mark out and analysis of targets in selected areas. The inspection, under normal circumstances, can be performed on one side of the slab, which permits slab-on-grade scanning. Some applications of GPR include, but are not limited to:
• Locating reinforcing bars
• Locating post-tension cables
• Locating metallic and non-metallic conduits
• Detecting voids beneath slab-on-grade
• Slab thickness and cover depth to targets

Damaging structural elements such as conduit, rebar, and post tension cable can be dangerous and costly; let us keep your projects on time, reduce safety risks, and decrease potential structural issues. CSI is the only company in the tristate area with a CSDA certified scanner on staff. When you hire CSI, you have peace of mind in knowing that you have the most reliable scanning technology on your job site and that you will receive the assistance of a technician who can provide you with understanding of the most accurate data. Concrete scanning provides more than just utility information.

For this project, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) was used to map reinforcing steel around an existing floor drain before cutting or coring operations. Having a clear picture of the slab layout helps contractors make informed decisions and avoid unexpected conflicts.

The more you know about what's inside the concrete, the better you can plan the work ahead.

Mapping the highs and lows.

Q-deck conditions identified and clearly marked so crews know exactly what they’re working with before coring or cutting begins.

No assumptions. Just accuracy.

This is what “no surprises” looks like.

Multiple possible conduit runs identified and marked out before any cutting begins. Because guessing underground isn’t a strategy.

Scan first. Cut second.
