This week at Befort Plumbing & Heating, our apprenticeship class is putting in the work at our brand-new learning facility in Englewood. We believe that to be the best in the field, you have to train in an environment that reflects real-world scenarios.

Right now, our apprentices are diving deep into the everyday challenges service plumbers face. They are getting direct, hands-on experience troubleshooting and solving complex issues with traditional and tankless water heaters, water purifier systems, Toilets and water fountains.

Having this dedicated training space allows us to simulate the exact conditions our team sees on the job. It ensures the next generation of Befort plumbers is equipped with the knowledge and confidence to deliver top-tier service from day one.

Old cast iron pipes require precision and the right approach. In the field, the choice between a cast iron chain cutter and an angle grinder is a daily decision for our crews at Befort Plumbing & Heating.

Here is a breakdown of why we equip our trucks with both:

Chain Cutters: The gold standard for a clean break. They are significantly safer and use mechanical leverage to snap the pipe perfectly. The catch? You need enough clearance to wrap the chain entirely around the pipe.

Angle Grinders: The necessary fallback. When pipes are flush against a foundation wall or tucked in an impossibly tight crawlspace, a grinder with a metal cut-off wheel gets the job done.
