3/13/26: Fire season came early and caught us with our pants down. Rocking D dozer was dispatched to assist with the operations in the Nebraska National Forest near Halsey, on the Road 203 incident.

8/14/25: Started out as a fairly calm morning to mid-day, but by late afternoon, the winds switched due to passing storm cells, and fire behavior became extremely active. Combine the strong winds with drought conditions, we were experiencing long runs through aspen and mixed conifer fuel types. The lines we pushed were impacted hard and fast, but so far, they passed the test. The fire stayed active like this long after the sun went down.

8/13/25: RDE was put to work straight away, originally assigned to put in contingency lines on the west flank of the fire. As the day began to heat up, fire activity picked up and began making big runs. This caused us to be pulled from our original mission and begin trying to race parallel to the fire pushing line between it and the homes at risk.

08/14/2025

Yesterday, 8/12/25, RDE dozer was dispatched to the Crosho fire, south of Steamboat Colorado. We arrived on scene last night and got tied in the Division C and began pushing line today to protect structures on the north side of the fire. Pretty good fire activity on all fronts throughout the day, growing from 500ac to 1700ac. More photos and updates to follow.
