We’re off to a strong start on a major fuels reduction / fire mitigation project up in Ely 🔥🌲 With the current dry conditions and Red Flag warnings, we’re holding off on burning for now but the site is fully prepped and ready to bring good fire to the landscape once moisture returns. 💨🌧️

The crew kicked off tree-felling operations at the Wilderness at Fortune Bay Golf Course today. This job calls for accuracy and precision to make sure every tree comes down safely without damaging the course. We had a solid day, removing several dead hazard trees, and we’re grateful for the chance to do what we love in such a beautiful setting. Excited to keep the momentum going with the rest of our projects. 🔥🌲💪⛳

Today, the Growing Futures crew conducted an educational demonstration for the youth at Camp Voyageur, focusing on wildfire risk mitigation practices. The session included an overview of chainsaw safety, fire behavior, and the importance of fuels reduction as a proactive strategy in wildfire prevention.

These young men, who travel from across the U.S. to attend this camp in northern Minnesota, were engaged and curious as we discussed the ecological role of fire, the potential consequences of unmanaged fuels, and the operational steps involved in maintaining defensible space.

We’re proud to contribute to community outreach efforts like this—helping educate the next generation on land stewardship, forest health, and fire resilience.
