It could happen!” ⚾️

One of my favorite movies is Angels in the Outfield. One of the movie’s most famous lines is:

“It could happen!”

It captures the hope, enthusiasm and belief of a young boy who thinks that, by some miracle, his team could actually win the pennant.

How appropriate those words felt last Friday, August 21, 2026, when a record crowd gathered at The Buffalo Club to hear the incredible personal story of Michael Billoni, the legendary former General Manager of the Buffalo Bisons and now a member of the Niagara Business Associates.

Mike is also “the guy that gave me and my family Buffalo Bisons tickets” some 30 years ago. ⚾️ "Who knew?"

You just never know who you’re going to meet, or when you’re going to meet them and whether that person will somehow have an influence on your life’s journey in years to come.

Sometimes, you don’t realize the impact someone has had until you experience it in real time.

At Concept Construction, we build things.

Incredible buildings.
Beautiful, architecturally designed structures. Projects all across Western New York.

But we also build something just as important:

Relationships. Partnerships. Friendships.

I am truly privileged and honored to call Mike Billoni my friend.

Mike, your presentation was impactful, emotional and influential. Thank you for sharing your story and giving all of us a glimpse into the experiences that helped shape your incredible journey.

From Customer to Friend — Celebrating Jeff Woodrich and His Journey

It was a pleasure to hear Jeff Woodrich, CEO, Owner, Partner and Physical Therapist at Buffalo Rehab Group, share his personal and professional journey with members of the Niagara Business Association.

Jeff offered an insightful look into the experiences, challenges, and opportunities that helped shape Buffalo Rehab Group into one of Western New York’s leading rehabilitation providers.

Having known Jeff first as a customer and now as a friend, it was especially meaningful to hear more about the journey behind his success. What stood out was his genuine passion for physical therapy, along with his humility and gratitude toward the dedicated staff and patients who have played such an important role in his success.

Jeff’s story was a great reminder that lasting business success is built on hard work, strong relationships, dedicated teams, and a commitment to serving others.

Celebrating a New Business in the Southtowns!

It was a pleasure to join friends, colleagues, and fellow Southtowns Regional Chamber of Commerce board members in celebrating the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of Enlighten Salon, located at 133 Pine Street in the Village of Hamburg.

I was especially honored to celebrate this exciting milestone with building owner Shawn Buffum and his daughter, Emily Buffum, owner of Enlighten Salon.

It’s always exciting to see local entrepreneurs take the next step in growing their businesses and making an investment in our community. These are the moments that remind us just how special the Southtowns are!

Congratulations, Emily and Shawn! Wishing you tremendous success at your new location and many years of serving the Hamburg and Southtowns communities.

Have you ever watched a movie and recognized a company or brand on the screen? Chances are, it wasn't there by accident.

One of the many hats I wear is promoting our corporate brand, so I'm always looking for creative marketing ideas. Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting two outstanding Western New York film professionals. George Pittas, Co-Owner of Buffalo Film Works Studios and Bill Murray III, Owner of B3 Productions.

They introduced me to a marketing opportunity many local businesses may not have considered: product placement in television and film.

Think about the possibilities...

A construction scene featuring Concept Construction's equipment, vehicles, signage, and crew.

A local automotive dealership showcasing its newest models.

A neighborhood restaurant, brewery, bank, law office, manufacturer or retail business becoming part of the story.

These aren't just props, they're strategic branding opportunities putting local businesses in front of new audiences.

More film and television production companies are choosing Buffalo and Western New York as filming locations. This is an excellent opportunity for local companies to gain exposure while showcasing their products and services.

Next time you're watching a movie or TV show filmed in Western New York, keep an eye out for familiar businesses and landmarks, you may be surprised by what you recognize.

NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN!"

What an incredible mission and an amazing cause!

I'm grateful, once again, to represent Concept Construction. Building things is rewarding, but helping build something that changes a child's life is truly special.

Recently, I had the privilege of joining many of my friends and colleagues from Niagara Business Associates (NBA), along with some of Western New York's outstanding business owners and executives, to visit our friend Jerry Sheldon, Co-Owner of Sleep in Heavenly Peace – Buffalo.

Located at 80 Earhart Drive in Williamsville, this all-volunteer nonprofit organization builds and delivers FREE beds to children throughout Western New York who don't have a safe, comfortable place to sleep.

Their dedicated volunteers build an average of 100 beds every month, and they've already delivered more than 7,000 beds to children and families in our community. What an incredible accomplishment!

Congratulations to Jerry and every volunteer who gives their time, talent, and heart to this wonderful organization. Your compassion is changing lives—one bed at a time.

Sharing the fun and excitement of today's Grand Opening celebration with Tim Hortons franchise owner Raj Kalra and Concept Construction Co-Owner & CEO Mike Shevlin!

It was a fantastic event celebrating another beautiful new Tim Hortons location and the partnerships that helped make it happen. Proud of our relationship with Raj and family and thankful for his trust in me and our entire construction team at Concept Construction.

☕ And here's a little FYI... the coffee is outstanding and the ice-cold refreshing drinks are the perfect way to cool off on a warm day!

"Build it and they will come!"

The sold-out 6th Annual Bocce Ball Tournament at Sole at Woodlawn Beach was another tremendous success!

With proceeds benefiting Buffalo Bills fan favorite Harrison Phillips' Playmakers Foundation and the Ilio DiPaolo Scholarship Fund, the event brought together so many people in support of two outstanding causes.

The day was filled with great food, drinks, friendly competition, and the opportunity to spend time with wonderful friends, old and new. Events like this remind us of the power of community and the difference we can make when we come together.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, sponsored, volunteered, and worked behind the scenes to make the event such a memorable one. I was proud to be a part of it and am already looking forward to doing it all again next year!

It's all about relationships.

As a member of Niagara Business Associates (the "other" NBA), I've learned that the connections we build often lead to unexpected opportunities and lasting friendships.

A special thank you to my good friend Herb Bellamy Jr. for introducing me to his lifelong friend, former NBA player Willie “Hutch” Jones. We enjoyed a great breakfast, an inspiring presentation, and a reminder that success is built not only through what we do, but through the relationships we build along the way.

Sneak Peek!

Happy to be on hand to celebrate with my friend Raj Kalra, CEO of Kalra Enterprises and the proud new owner of Western New York's newest Tim Hortons Café. So happy to have built this for him!

Located at the Harlem Road and Cleveland Drive circle in Cheektowaga, Raj's newest Tim Hortons is quietly introducing itself to the community ahead of an official Grand Opening celebration, which is currently being planned.

Celebrating with Friends
Early in my career, a customer once told me,
“You know, Vince, I totally forgot you’re my sales representative. I guess I think of you as my friend first.”

At the time, I didn’t realize how much that comment would shape the way I approach business relationships. To this day, I still believe the best partnerships are built on trust, respect and genuine friendship.

Recently, my friends Dennis and Ilio DiPaolo invited me to sit down with them, along with their longtime pal, Kevin LoVullo of Spiel the Wine , to talk about family, friendship and business. What an honor. And what a fun experience.

The DiPaolo family business has played an important role in my life, both personally and professionally. I was happy to share my thoughts on what the DiPaolo family business has meant to me, to our company and to business development throughout Western New York.

Perhaps I’ll see you there. And who knows, maybe we can even do a little business while enjoying an amazing dining experience at Ilio DiPaolo’s Restaurant & Ringside Lounge.
