Gutter Guy of Ellijay was born in 2019 when after working as a State Farm agent/adjuster, I realized the North Georgia area needed a dependable gutter cleaning company. We pride ourselves in not only being the areas most popular and referred gutter cleaning business but as of March 2021, we are North Georgians only full time, full gutter service company. We pay close attention to detail in every aspect of the process from taking the call, setting the appointment, wining the job and completing the service. Whether it's a gutter cleaning service, repairs or a full new gutter installation, our reputation speaks for itself, no one does it better. With over 800 services/repairs and installations completed in 2022, our goal of being the best full service service in North Georgia is quickly coming to a reality. Can't say enough about the support of our local communities. Running metric numbers today for my third quarter goals..

Yes, we do this weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and yearly..

And yes, we have hit, every metric we have ever set! Most of the times exceeding those goals!

But to look through and see over 200 repeat clients for well over 4 years and almost 5 years old is pretty astonishing. We've tabulated about 13,000 services over the last almost 5 and 1/2 years and we're not slowing down.

What started out as a side gig many moons ago after leaving State Farm has turned into a very rewarding, incredibly supportive business from our friends and families.

They say you're enemy doesn't knock on your door. If that's any indication of how we're seen by our community, I'd say we're doing OOOOOOKKKKKK!

Gutter cleaning vs a gutter service from an actual gutter company

Gutter Cleaning:

- Removes debris from gutter and makes it look shiny.
- This includes fancy pressure/soft washing and a "handyman" clean

Gutter Service:

- Removes debris from gutter, downspout.
- Inspects all seams (end caps, miters, outlets)
- Reseals system if needed
- Confirms all mounting straps and hangers are properly attached
- Replaces/repairs any of these that may need attention
- Confirms all gutters and sloped properly. This does NOT mean visually, just because the gutters looks improper, doesn't mean it's not working most effectively. We make this determination not the homeowner from ground level or with your fancy level or roofers "professional opinion"
- Have the necessary speciality tools and correct color parts to make repairs
- Complete a full service report and keep on file to better track your history of needed services
- Offer (within 5 calendar days upon request) a full photo gallery to support any/all aspects of service preformed
- Offer full liability insurance, performance bonds and the industries most knowledgeable OSHA Certified team to give you piece of mind

So, it's NOT just a gutter cleaning. Anybody can clean a gutter, not everyone (most don't) complete a FULL Gutter Service.

It's that time of year again.

As of October 1st, if you have a metal roof, your appointment will more than likely be late morning or after lunch.

Due to the seasonal weather and climate changes, with morning dew, more shaded areas than normal due to lower Sun, we cannot risk our assets by climbing on slippery metal roofs..

If your gutters are within ladders reach we will be more than glad to complete the gutter service however we cannot promise during the winter months that we can blow the debris from your roof if your metal roof is slick..

This is non-negotiable. We have to change how we do business different times of year and this is an unfortunate side effect of the seasonal change..

- visiting and completing in person written estimates on in-house sales calls ( no cold calling required)
- other duties would be added as your experience proved you can handle the given opportunity effectively

At Gutter Guy of Ellijay we're continually striving to offer the best quality work with the most competitive pricing.

Starting October 1st 2026, we will be offering a 5% discount on all customer assisted virtual estimates.

Just snap us a photo of each side of your house, answer a few simple questions and you could qualify for a 5% discount off the total estimate. Just for sharing photos and a little information about your structure..

Not every structure qualifies nor does every service requested qualify. We will let you know upon request of estimate if your home can be virtually estimated..

Using digital tools for estimating, we can very accurately get within just a few linear feet of material needed to accurately quote your house for new 6-in gutters.

This is applicable for gutter installation and some gutter guard estimates. Repairs and maintenance services not applicable..

Let's review underground drains, again.. with the upcoming fall leafy season coming up, it'll help shed some light on WHY they get clogged.

The underground drain pipes attached to your gutters are more than likely improperly installed, Yes, they were more than likely installed incorrect.

There's two different types of material used.

Corrugated: Identified as a black rippled pipe connected to your downspout.

Pros:
- Let's costly than PVC in both material and installation
- Comes in 4-6" sizes (when used in most gutter systems)
- More flexible than PVC
- Doesn't take rocket science to install

Cons:
- Typically installed incorrectly
- Holds debris due to rippled design
- Very difficult to clean
- When not installed properly, has a much higher percentage of not being damaged due to improper installation

PVC (polyvinyl chloride): A thick walled, hard none flexible pipe. Typically is 4-6" size when attached to gutter systems.

Pros:
- Used in residential, commercials plumbing, electrical and HVAC due to rigid design
- Easy to clean when clogs are found
- Able to be buried under hardscapes and driveways without failure (when installed correctly)

Cons:
- More costly than PVC in both material and installation
- Requires just a little more knowledge than corrugated to install
- Best for MOST applications when being attached to gutter systems

Most of the residential homes we service have the lesser costly 4' corrugated pipe option. These pipes are mostly installed incorrectly. (More on that later)

NOTE:

These underground pipes are NOT part of your gutter system. We do NOT install underground drainage. We can inspect these systems to see if they are clogged however, we do NOT replace, install or clean underground drains.

We are not responsible for connecting new gutters or doing repairs on existing gutter systems IF the underground pipes are clogged, or damaged after we service OR install new gutters and downspouts on your current underground pipe system.

We can as a courtesy when servicing your gutters "attempt" to verify your underground pipes are flowing however, in the event we determine they are clogged, we will simply refer you to a company that can assist with this process.

As it's raining on this lazy Saturday morning and we're noticing water going over, behind or spewing up from the ground from the end of the downspout, don't fret, it's not an emergency.... Important but NOT an emergency...

These issues are typically due to poor roof installations lack of flashing or drip edge and a litney of other issues including just needing cleaning.. even if they were cleaned last week, month or yesterday, remember, mother nature is in charge..

Your gutter is a catch basin that catches water that "falls" from a properly installed roof wether metal or shingles... If any part of the process isn't correct, water could fall in places that it's not supposed to.

It's ok to let us know there's an issue outside normal work hours and we'll absolutely get it looked at as soon as we possibly can.

Yes, we're VERY good at what we do but most often the issues we deal with are because the people before us are not good at what they did.
