What’re your thoughts?! I came across this active radon line today. It terminated about 4” above the gutters. The roofers just installed the DeckAir intake vents on the roof. My question is this- Could those DeckAir vents pull in the Radon gases into the attic? If so, is it a health concern? Why or why not? I’ve reached out to Radon professionals and the manufacturer but couldn’t get straight answers.

Do not mix different types of roof exhaust vents. Here we have a power fan pulling air through a turbine vent 6’ away. If it were raining, water would be coming in! This also pulls hot air in, instead of cool air down low from the soffits. Air will take the path of least resistance. Call or click for your attic and ventilation inspection

When nearly every eave is blocked with fiberglass batts and the insulation beneath the roof vents is matted down and covered with debris, it’s a strong sign the exhaust vents are short-cycling—pulling air through one roof vent and exhausting it through another.

This attic has 17 soffit vents, but nearly all the eaves are blocked. Without an open path from the soffits, fresh air can’t enter the attic. Proper ventilation isn’t just about the number of vents. It’s about creating clear, balanced airflow.
