A front is coming in tonight . Winds are expected to reach 50-60 MPH. That strong of wind can cause damage to any roof. After the wind decreases you will need to go outside and inspect the roof from the ground. Wind damage can cause "Cupping" it looks like the bottom of the shingles are turned up. if you sustain that kind of damage you may need a new roof. Every homeowner needs to check their gutters for a buildup of leaves, If the leaves are not cleaned out they can become thick enough that when snow or rain freezes upon them, it can turn into an Ice Dam. Then any snow that melts and runs down the roof is blocked by the dam and backup into the house under the shingles and starts to saturate the insulation and then down into the walls. Proper maintenance in the late fall after leaves have fallen can alleviate this problem from happening.
