Days 17–18 in Lititz have been quite eventful as we make significant progress on our multi-level deck project. The installation of the railing is well underway, and it's exciting to see the finer details starting to come together, piece by meticulous piece.

The process involves securely mounting each aluminum post, ensuring they are perfectly aligned and stable. This is critical for both safety and aesthetics. Additionally, we are carefully running the wiring for the post lighting, which will not only enhance the deck's functionality but also add a beautiful ambiance for evening gatherings. Another essential component being added is the drink rail, designed for both practicality and style, providing a convenient spot for refreshments while enjoying the outdoor space.

Each of these steps is crucial to finishing a railing system the right way, with precision and attention to detail. It's rewarding to see how these elements combine to transform the deck into a cohesive and inviting space. This marks another step closer to the finish line, bringing us nearer to completing this ambitious project.

Day 16 at the Kimmel project, and this 1,700-square-foot, three-level deck is taking shape.

All the decking and picture framing are installed, most of the fascia is complete, and the balcony decking is ready for railing. The lighting wires and electrical work are also nearly finished. To close off the ends of the deck, we framed them with pressure-treated 2x4s and vertically installed matching Caribou fascia boards for a clean, finished look.

With multiple levels, custom corners, lighting, trim work, and under-decking, every detail takes time—but the finished result will be worth it.

With this crucial structure securely in place, we are now fully prepared to move on to the next stages, which include adding the decking, installing the railings, and incorporating various other elements. Precision and attention to detail are absolutely essential to ensure that we create a robust and long-lasting outdoor space. We are eagerly anticipating the moment when everything comes together to form a truly stunning retreat that we can enjoy for years to come.
